    Hello everyone;

    I've managed to snag an appointment with Orna Bennett, the Head of the Fine Arts School at NTU. I will be talking to her next wednesday about using the Fine Arts Painting Studio as a venue for our weekly LANs.

    We are also still waiting for the Student Union to enter an insurance contract, which should happen in the next week or so.

    Hopefully we'll be up and running in the first or second week of university - early March.

    Right now it looks like ULC members will be able to turn up, pay $10 and go right in, whereas guests will need to book, much as you would for a DGA LAN. This is for security reasons.

    That's the latest. I'll keep everyone posted.

    The meeting didn't happen. I went to the right place, at the right time, 9:30 this morning.

    It turns out that yesterday, Orna Bennett had a death in the family. She's taking time off, and nobody is sure when she'll get back. So it looks like you can add a week or two to our projected timeframe.

    Dammit.

    McConnell's Law: Everything always takes longer than expected to do, even when McConnell's Law is taken into account.

    Right now we're still haggling for a venue. We may wind up at the Student Lounge instead of the Fine Arts building. So I guess the timeframe has been pushed back another month or so.
