Thread: First ULC LAN on Weekend of April 12th.

I will ask howie to pop up a rego page ASAP.

There are only 40 places, and there will be a BBQ with free food and drink for all Club members.

Remember that if you join, your first LAN is free. Memberships cost $10. If you wish to attend as a non-member guest it will cost you $15.

This date is settled and final. It will only be changed if DGA needs that weekend.

We will then take a break over Easter, for BrAiN DaNcE's 21st birthday, before resuming regular LAN goodness on the weekend of the 26th of April, and each week after that.

I went to my first DGA on the weekend and would like to come to this lan and join up.

Just a question though....what games do people play at this lan?

I ask this because no one played BF1942 at DGA and only a small group played DC.3 mod for it. Also, didnt see anyone play Q3, did see a Q3 RA server but dont think it was popular. Plus, only a handful of people played UT2k3 on rare occasions. Everyone just seemed to play CS. Now this may sound wierd because most people here are CS fans but I dont get into it myself. I like to play a variety of games to keep things fresh.

Can this be a DC .3 lan only? hehe

at all lans people play as they wish
the admins can put up dedicated servers on request if they have the resorces and energy
i am sure there will be a bf server there somewhere

do u have a dedicated server for u'r lans?
if so what is it and whats it capable of running?

ATM the Club doesn't own any servers, so all servers are volunteered. I will be placing my own computer at the disposal of the LANs for the time being, Athlon XP 1800+ with 512MB of PC2700. I will only be running legal copies of software, so whatever you choose, choose before the weekend so I can buy a copy.

We're working on chasing donors to get some money for equipment, but I won't say anything else about that for now. We will of course be spending a big part of any surpluses from the LANs on servers and network fabric.
