Thoughts about Ferst and his Aussie clan

From what I gather these are my impressions of Ferst/Lukester/DADdwarf

    1. He is young and a shittalker
    2. Ferst isnt his orginal character - he got it at level 50
    3. His clan is about 6-8 Aussies with many alts and buffbots

Every few days he PM's me or one of the clannies.

While I dont think he wants to Ally with us, I dont really want to ally with him either I think he wants help with RAIDS etc

TheBlue and Erosan are also his clan.

Has anyone had any major run ins with these guys?

On the positive side they just setup and played Sil3nt like a flute with a beautiful non L2 related scam...I dont like Sil3nt

TheBlu is actually the clan leader I believe but Ferst, Wobbler, and one other bloke who's name escapes me are his officers.
They have about 18 ppl in their alliance and most if not all are 70+
They're keen to raid stuff for which they need that elusive 3rd group (same as us).
They have been around for a while so they tend to have a few well known server personalities (like Ferst) amongst them so PvP is common.
They PK IC and IC pk's them back. They are neutral to everyone else. They have good relations with FA, The Professionals and Dhara. They are also on ok terms with Dread since they split from them. The split was essentially amicable so there is no bad blood between them.

They are fairly easy going as you'd expect from an aussie bunch. Much like the Darwin contingent they are a group of RL friends and so they tend to work together quite well without any of the "trust baggage" that we seem to carry.
They don't have many rules per se, but they do have a clan centralised economy where everyone contributes stuff to a central repository and stuff gets dished out on a as needed FCFS basis. They are happy to assist us in equipping with A grade as they are almost finished with this process.
I told them that were not there for hand outs and I'm sure we can subscribe to some equitable system where we all pull our weight.
They're more than happy to consider any propositions or constraints that we may have if we were to join this alliance.
They are hardcore gamers who spend a lot more time online than most of us combined. As long as ppl are willing to participate in certain alliance based PvE events we shouldn't have any issues. Alliance PvP and Wars are put forward for our consideration and if we have any terms on those we should discuss it and put them forward for them to mull over.
I have advised them that by and large were not PvP adverse but we do have a few princesses in the crowd and so I told them we'd get back to them.

Thats pretty much where I left it off with them. They have a fourm > Alliance forums.
Anywhoot have a think about it, they're Sydney based and I'd sure like to go out for some beers and chew the fat about my favourite MMO just like in the good ol days.

    Cheers

    Ahh good stuff Elly.

They are a lot larger than I thought, didnt know so many other aussies where around

If they can help us get into the higher level content then by all means lets continue contact and see if we can help them with raids or other things

I don't think all of their members are Aussies, they have a few yanks in their ranks.
As far as I can tell we should have the numbers on them by a long stretch. The initial information that its only about 8 aussies IRL may still be correct. They didn't go into that much detail.
Essentially we have about 31 members if I didn't mix in any bots into that number from the clan member list. Out of 31 around 25 are solid performers with good online time and climbing levels.
If we don't lose any ppl (ie get Glor back on the roster !!) then we should mature in 3-4 months to their level anyway.
The question which we have not answered is where do we want to be in lets say 6 months from now as a clan. If the goal of every clan member is simply to get to 75 and then subclass to do it all again then we do not need any alliances.
If ppl want to Siege and PvP then we will have to look at options, more importantly if we want to raid we will need to ally as the list of prospective recruits on Kain remains limited. The only way we will grow is by advertising an hoping to attract players from other servers and other MMO's.
In order to advertise (and recruit), we need to define what we are about as I described earlier in another thread. The website will be the catalyst for this and I think Southern Storm will capture a lot of ppls imaginations.
The unwritten law of MMO's is that ultimately the clan/alliance with the largest population will get to call the shots. Levels are only a time constraint. If we do not feel constrained by time then levels are meaningless because we will all get to 75... eventually.
Its just a matter of whether ppl are interested in doing a bit of raiding, sieging & PvP sooner rather than later. They can assist us with some of those things "right now; like raiding and obtaining A grade equipment much faster for those that can use it, but it will come at a price and I'm not just talking money.
I look forward to your opinions. The other thing to consider is that proportionally only 5 or so SBers (who are 60+ out of the 31 or 25 if we narrow it down will benefit in any meaningfull capacity from this alliance.

Whilst I will not hide the fact that I am more than ready to tackle raid content, I am prepared to wait if that is the clan concensus, but with the caveat that we grip ourselves up and take some steps along the road to defining our goals and milestones.

    Cheers
    Elly
