Was levelling a little prophet to be on Sun arvo around gludio (level 15 area) when 3 D grade wearing toons entered my area and started to KS me.
No reponse to talk, no response when I KS them and then with targetting I realise I could affect their killing, IE L2Walker...seeing that they were breaking the cardinal rule of botting which is dont AFK bot I thought i'd teach em a lesson.
I logged on my 41 Archer and detagged him and ran down to Gludio, I gathered every wererat including the bossmob from Gludio to the neutral zone and ran towards them.
With glee I saw their tank switch to a target in my train and begin busily bashing away it at, unfortunately for him the 60 friends I brought too didnt think this was fair and all switch targets to him, one stunshot on the healer later I had 3 dead bots at my feet and an Elven Mithril Tunic.
I told them BADBOTS as they lay on the ground and get a message 5 minutes later "no you badbot"
With a rush of blood I called bomdigi up and we took 2 archers and tried to train a number of bots, unfortunately the long time bots have better AI or know how to deal with trains so we just went red on them.
Seeing this was a waste of time I called anda and we got together a little perma red party - levels 14, 16 and anda's 28 archer....we then just flat out PK'd the 3 bots near the neutral zone for an hour or 2, made them waste well over 100K in pots, antidotes as their bot tried to deal with 3 reds wacking away at them. We worked of the karma the first time but anda's archer was stealing all the kills +14pks and 10K Karma LOL so he went off to level and reduce some karma.
These bots where so automated we would kill them, they spawn to town and run straight back, so we met them on the road a few times, jumped off the mountains to give them some death from above and basically started killing them almost outside the gates of gludio, the few legit players left us alone and we didnt have to kill anyone unnecessarily.
Boms and Andas character left to work of some karma and xp while red, pretty fun if you havent done it before so I thought it was disappointing we didnt get any drops and stuck around for a while to work on my training techniques.
As these were 3 completely unattended bots always coming back to the same area I had a lot of time to work out what does work and what doesnt.
I got back on my 41 archer and gave him a bone dagger and went to work, this is how I got over a mil of gear from these bots last nite.
Wait for bot to come back and start hunting, if you have a train on you for too long they start to drop off.
Gather 16 aggros of 2 types, I was using the spiders and werewolves, 8 of each .
Run towards bot, now this is where it gets tricky.
A smart bot will not attack mobs that are in combat hitting someone else, they will also not attack mobs that have left the train , seems to be a combat flag set or something.
So I would train them while they were running towards a spider or werewolf that I hadnt touched, you can guide the bots by selecting their targets and they will run to the next one, so I would guide them to a mob of my choice and then stand next to them while they attacked it, train would transfer aggro and then fun begins. Using the bone dagger and sting it was landing every time, I would normally sting them before training to get their hps down and then sting them as the train switched target, they can kill about 4 but with 7-8 on them they then die and return to town.
If this didnt work I would simply stand next to them and confuse the most numerous mob in my train and 50% of the time it will go and attack them, bots will defend vs mobs and will attack back, whole train shifts and they die.
Sometimes they survive, one did but he used at least 50 heal pots, 30 bandages 10 antidotes as the spiders were posioning him too. So I just trained him again
So on my 2nd attempt at doing this I got some manti gauntletes...ohh nice score..I wonder what would happen if the bot dropped all its armour would it still try to fight?
So over the next 45 mins I picked on one bot KORgirl.
She dropped her gloves, manti top, manti leggings and some crappy earrings and 800 VARNISH!!!
Then then ran back endlessly and died on the 2nd mob she fought because she had no armourI waited for another 30 mins seeing if she would drop her MG but didnt, so I pm'd a legit player and told him to watch out for it.
The only thing I think that would make it faster would be a healer healing their mobs but they would have to have fast cast speed as these bots kill the mobs in 3-4 hits
Was a fun nite, got a load of D grade crystals for Elly and Headache now too
But know all i want to to do it find higher level bots and train them...I need a dorf character
