After getting back from holidays, things haven't been the same for me. I logged on a few times but even at a lowly lvl63 i don't really think i'm up for another year(at my rate) of grinding to become 75. I had awesome fun at the siege tho, but really to compete with the high end of the server(which is what i wanted) takes alot of time and dedication on your character. Also i'm not spending anymore money on L2 and have always refused to be powerleved.

Also(as a result of us having a good time on holidays) my woman has asked me to change my ways a bit and not spend so much time online, why do woman want attention from their partners? As if eating dinner and having sex isn't enough 'us' time?:p :p :p

It urks me to see it diminish, but the point and members seem to be few and far between, I give it till c4 and after xmas and this might renew most members, also take into account the time of year is pretty full on with holidays, relies visiting, so count me in and see what c4 brings... thats what the mrs told me to do rather than just throwing a year of charachter grinding away...

*Sigh* sux to see this happen

I'm off work for quite a while so no dont think I'll be giving lineage up till maybe after february.

You guys are right the grind is a killa, but if your in a good clan with full parties happening xp'ing isn't really that bad, in a duo at 67 I still get maybe 5% an hour and now I do quests and stuff at the same time so it's not that bad.

I'm enjoying crafting and overenchanting now, got some demon fangs up to +13 but broke going for +14 so said fkt and made my BoP +6.

I dont need to purchase adena, I can craft and make enough money to do whatever I want just takes a little bit of time to get the stuff I need. Almost finished another BoP which im gonna sell then make some A grade equipment.

If you guys dont come back soon I was just gonna change clan because frankly it blows not being able to xp unless I solo/duo, the whole point of this game is to group but I understand it's hard without a good party.

Hopefully C4 improves things but I cant see that happening, I really enjoy our alliance because most of the Revolutions are good guys, but I dont think i'll move to one of the other clans simply for the fact they all buffbot as well. Honestly I miss my days in Draco knights, we all parties/xp'd/pvp'd/pk'd regularly and the clan helped each other out in a big way, I dont think I'm gonna find that again but I'll for sure as hell keep looking.

I log on most days even if it's just to set up shop, dont xp everyday the grind is a killer, I've got no fkn idea how on earth people make it to 75 but it is possible and I've got till end of feb I reckon before I have to start working again.

Log on and say hi if I dont reply it's cause im AFk as shop.

And for all you pussies on the private server, sure it's fun but I dont think it will last anywhere near as long as the real thing does/did.

I agree reaper it wont last as long as the real thing, but doesnt it make you think, does it really make a difference? do you really need to spend so much time on a game? i didnt even make it to 40, but im already have 100 times more fun on a p server than i have did on retail.

maybe lvling to 75 in a month and pvping to death and getting sick of the game is good for you, and for your real lives? after all your life will exist a long time before any game does, and planning for it should take priority over everything else, i know people that have done nothing but play computer games and all its done is waste time and they wonder why they cant stop because all they have done for 2 years is play a computer game and forgot how to live life. its all relavent to each situation. but getting sick of computer games is the best thing i have ever done. unfortunately im not that sick of them yet

Ps. i just got back from a christmas party and are possibly drunk.

    Thanks for the post Gratzz,

The problem with MMO's as opposed to all sorts of other games where you kind of get everything given to you and just crack on for fun, is that ppl put in RL hours and lots of them to set up play support systems.

The reason I call it a play support system is that once the clan is large enough and has framed the way it wants to operate in some sort of policy then it will be able to "support" all the different play styles that are out there within the limitation of the overarching clan policies.

These play support system begin with the formation of a clan and encompass all sorts of policies and rules which ppl are obliged to adhere to IOT move everyone ahead as an entity. Because its group based commitment MMO's are almost like pyramid schemes. IOT treat ppl fairly you have to keep the scheme going to ensure that everyone gets something for their effort. In MMO's such as EQ1 and what not, this was achieved through raiding. There was never enough loot but if you kept coming evenually you'd get something. L2 was intended to be the same way. Everyone needed to pool mats and stuff and crank out gear for all members who'd have to be set up in some priority order. Schedules and timmeframes need to be established IOT give ppl visibility of when they would be eligible for stuff and these lists would have to be constantly tweaked based on member participation. Its a hell of a lot of hard work and much of it is a thankless taks... I know !! This requires diff levels of organisational commitment beyond the log on and shoot em up types of games. Many hrs go into the admin of such support systems, but ultimately the reward is in a stable and vibrant guild structure. These invariably only exist as long as the interest in the MMO and the active participation of all the members concerned. Unfortunately because none of this was ever put into "official" SB policy, ppl had nothing to reference and there was never 100% trust as to the distribution and management of the mats/crafted goods.

The ability to buy adena online has negated the need for such a clan crafting structure. In a game which relies heavily on consumables and the ability to equip oneself we essentially bypassed a critical step in the foundation of a clan structure. This in itself is a sad thing because whilst noone says that a little help from IGE or MMOShop doesn't ease the pain we would have fared much better had we gripped this up from the start.

Regrettably I have come to realise that most of you guys simply do not subscribe to this style of play. Given L2's emphasis on the need to maintain not only a self sufficient/sustaining economic model but also governing it wisely to enable the XP/levelling game, SB has become burnt out on the latter because we failed to establish the former.

My hats off to you guys for giving it a go and allowing me the opportunity to be a part of SB.
I can say that I will miss all of you leaving the official servers in pursuit of other games or versions of L2.

My intent in the meantime is to stay in the clan untill either Anda or Gratzz give a me a definitve idea on what it is that they are going to do.
I suspect that we may see a resurgence of interest when C4 launches, however I'd prefer if we had some serious soul searching WRT clan longevity rather than keeping ppl strung on.
I have recently acquired a copy of BF2 which I need to set up so that I can play on whichever server SB plays on, (still have some tech issues here )and hopefully I should be able to keep in touch this way should we part company in L2.

As as mentioned to Gratzz initially wish that I had more time to influence the clan building process more directly but because my time behind the keyboard is very limited and I would not do any justice to the process. The other overriding factor was that, I've had my time in the lime light with EQ1 for 5 years its time for others to have a crack at the job.

I look forward to your response fellas, but if the decision is to part ways then good luck and crack on and I'll catch up with you guys in BF2.

    Cheers
    Elly

Why dont you just do L2X as the main game ?? lvl quick .. enjoy the game more ..

and its free so more people (friends) like me may get involved more. no grind.. just enjoy the game for what it is??

Im not techinally part of this discussion however just throwing forward an idea.
Flame me all you want, God already hates me!!
