    Monitor (preferably HD)

Wanted: HD monitor or as close as possible, probably second hand to meet my budget constraints. My Samsung 226BW died and I was gonna buy another one coz I really liked it, but it's not HD. If anyone can recommend some models to me it'd be great coz if I can't get one here I'll look elsewhere.
    Budget: $250

you might be able to pick up one of these locally for just over your budget...

They have a 3 year warranty.
They say if you play a Microsoft CD backwards, you hear satanic messages. Thats nothing, cause if you play it forwards, it installs Windows

If you're happy to cover postage, I have a 24" Samsung that's 1920x1080 (16:9) that I may be happy to sell for that price. Will check model number and retail cost when home.

It'll give me an excuse to upgrade to another 120Hz.

@jabsy: Never heard of AOC. Is it my ignorance or are they a no-brand? And when you say 'locally', is there an outlet you had in mind?

@rec: Coool How long have you had your monitor? The 226BW I had was second hand from a computer guy (not sure how long he had it) and died after just over a year of me owning it :/

It turns a year old next week. It might actually be a 23"... I think it's this one: 23" high def monitor 2333SW - LCD Monitor - Monitor | SAMSUNG

We sold a few late last year, they were a relatively new brand. We couldn't get any LG's at the time, and these worked out the same price with freight and had HDMI and speakers, which the LG's didn't. I notice that the local wholesaler Hallmark has them now.

IMHO the LG are a better unit, but these have more features (speakers, HDMI) and also have a 3 year warranty. If you can't find one locally I can get you one if you need. I'm not sure where the warranty is handled, I think they might be pickup/return, whereas the LG's are repaired/replaced up here.

You should check how long he had it, Samsungs usually have a 3 year onsite warranty. You might be still under warranty, I think they have a manufacturing date on the back. Just call em up and they'll send a new one out.

There is a FW900 for sale on ebay atm. Would cost a fair whack in shipping but definitely worth it and does 2560x1600 @75Hz

I'll check, but wouldn't it need a receipt even if it was still in warranty? I don't have any paperwork for it. Do you have to order in bulk from Hallmark?

42kgs! :O That's two thirds of me, lol.

And it's nowhere near the end of the auction, when the price really jumps up. I think I'll give the CRT a miss

You can always get around receipts.... I've never had an issue with any hassles from Samsung, they'd have the manufacturing date on file according to the serial number anyway.

You wont be able to buy from hallmark, but there's plenty of resellers on here. I can get you one if nobody else offers. (I'm taking a bit of a break atm)
