    Working PC, any specs

Hi all. I'm after any old working PC for free/cheap. Just basically a node to play networked movies etc on my TV.

Needs to have at least DVI out but that's pretty much it.

Just buy a WD TV or WD TV live. $168 for WD TV. Will play pretty much anything. Also use hell less power.

Edit: WD TV Live is networkable and you can stream youtube and shit.

You will over the coming time with electricity, so you might as well get something good with a remote.

Well no PC you're going to find for less than $168 is going to have DVI, or even play HD content.

Wow, thanks for that. I guess SD is better than nothing... Don't think a lot of my movies are HD anyway. Is this WDTV the only one of its kind? Like is there another brand that makes them that I could look up on eBay or something?

Theres a bunch of different media players out there, I haven't got a lot of experience with any below $100.

    Mwave Australia: Digital Media Players

fairly good range there, assume it's not complete.

    PC Case Gear Media Players

even less complete, but probably higher grade.

In my experience with "digital media players" they range from shitty, good but shoddy, and all the way up to fairly reasonable.

Never tried the WDTV products though, I suspect they'd be better than the average.
