    CRT monitor (17/19/21)

So I bought some educational software for a family member that forces the computer to run at 800x600 resolution.... unfortunately their cheap widescreen LCD just stretches everything.

Does anyone have a reasonable sized working CRT monitor (17/19/21) they want to sell or get rid of?

Your video card drivers can be set up to retain aspect ratio. No need to buy a whole new monitor.

Thanks rec but even after I did as you suggested it still doesn't look all that great I think due to fact LCDs have pixels and its not a nice multiple. Also I'd like the image to be a fairly good size i.e. use the whole screen so it rules out leaving it unscaled. I was thinking the image sharpness would be greatly enhanced by running it on a CRT.

So if anyone has a CRT they want to offload I'm still keen....

I'm in country NSW but I have a couple you could probably have for nothing, but postage would be expensive.
If all else local fails let me know and I can sort something out.
Yes, I do know it's the internet. No, that doesn't mean spelling and punctuation are illegal.

Thanks UnSCaRReD but you're right I imagine postage would be a killer on one of those... :/ I think if I look hard enough I *should* be able to find one.

I guess it'd be the same result as setting the graphics card to leave it unscaled i.e. pixel perfect but I want it to be a good size. As the monitor is 1920x1080 it kinda doesn't scale nicely. If only it was 1920x1200 then it would be perfectly double on the vertical with black bars on the side. But a brand new LCD seems like overkill when a cheap CRT will scale nicely.

Make sure they show you it working. Would be a pain in the arse to take back.

I'd have some at Howard Springs if you get desperate.
They say if you play a Microsoft CD backwards, you hear satanic messages. Thats nothing, cause if you play it forwards, it installs Windows
