    64 bit, you want to run a modern graphics card and/or have 8gb of ram, there's no question.

    I have been running x86-64 since vista days. Have not had a single driver related problem with new hardware. *(old however I have done) but anything made in the last 4 years is fine.

    BTW reason why platter drives are up is because two of WDs plants in Thailand got flooded.
