    Allan McNish Huge's massive Le Mans 24 Hour 2011 crash

    Audi Sport driver Allan McNish -- driving an Audi R18 TDI -- "tried to shoot the gap underneath a slower Ferrari 458 Italia; as McNish reached the apex of the corner, he touched the Ferrari, sending both cars hard into the barrier." Despite the severity of the crash, McNish was able to walk away under his own power after marshals righted the remains of his diesel prototype.

    What's particularly scary is how close some of those bystanders were to instant death.

    Yeh saw this, was near the start.. the other Audi crashed later in at night. Driver hospitalized but thankfully no serious injuries.
