Former WoW and EverQuest programmers working on sci-fi MMOG

Instead of throwing yet another MMOG on the market, Colony is centering the game around a dynamic, living world that will allow players to log on and react to a constantly changing world. The game's history is provided, but the players are the driving force behind current events. The game will also feature a "unique approach" to warfare, PvP combat, character advancement, and territory control, although exactly what that means is anyone's guess at this point.

Colony's aim is to "not be afraid to take chances outside the normal MMO design", and with experience on their side, they could be on the fast-track to MMO fame. They could also be on the fast-track to "here's a load of hype, hope you guys get excited enough to pay attention to what turns out to be a mediocre game".

IGN's RPG Vault has a full interview with Colony CEO Mike Wallis, who we assure you isn't Mike Wallace.
Sci-fi eh... something I might be interested in.

EVE online was great, but didn't have enough action for a space-fighter-mmo.

The former WoW Dev's are also the ones that made WoW Good.
The existing Dev's are the one's making the game lame.

Pfft it could be anyone from wow, the guy who developed the blizzard update agent tool.

It's incredibly easy to make something sound good, everyone does.

Mostly ends up complete shite though.

No. Everybody knows that the original game designers for wow left after the vivendi take-over. because their plans for the game didnt match the developers. so they left, and hired morons from EQ2 that were raid guild leaders in EQ1.

Developers don't just dissapear and stop making games. they have some brilliant ideas. and wow back in the old days when everything was so balanced it was fantastic. i hope they do much the same with this one.

Yes i'm sure that there were some good developers for wow at some point. There is however no guarantee that they are the ones working for this company. Could be just one guy, "contributed significantly" to wow by getting the coffee.

This is jibber jabber flim flam. PR bullshit easily churned out by any marketing machine. Every mmo in the world is going to claim to have wow developers in it, because it makes people go ooh aahhh.

The only time you can take something seriously is when they've actually made something you can look at.
