Thread: offensive laguage

last nite some of our clan members used offensive language, (concepts) i know this as i was pm by a few ppl.

my veiw on this are

we are a adult clan so if you dont like what ppl are saying tell them not me. i am probably cruder then most, i just cant type fast enough to make it worth it
we have a lot of new ppl and with that there alot of veiws about this so some restaint probably would not be a bad thing.

i was asked to do something about it because we have females in the clan, that is a most sexist point a view. most of the females in this clan are well and truly able to look after themselves.

please if ppl have anything to say about this please post them here and get any issues solved as quickly as posibble as ppl are going to be offensive in the future (well i intend to) and i would rather ppl know what the clan view is so they cant complain later or get bitter

its a game and i would like all the clan to feel comfortable about how we behave internally and to others playing the game.

I often curse alot, but i never mean it in an abusive fashion.
Ie, 'Wow, we ****en nailed that mob!'.
If this is an issue, please let me know and i will adjust my language accordingly

Yes I was very disappointed with last nights clan chat. People need to be considerate of others when typing inappropriate comments in clan chat, if I wanted to read 14 year old smaktalk to will read Orphus. My /ignore got a few new entries last night, and in the end clan chat got switched off.

Fair enough i used offensive language, but it was directed at wiz - mostly i think. :p :p

I'm sorry for the female payouts, but this has been happening for centuries, and at least i'll let the females vote! And from what i gathered, the females can well and truly dish out as well as take(well tenora can!).

Many of us are irl friends so we gonna talk as much smack as we want about each other- ill pm the smack tho from now on:p

If ppl are not mature enough to distinguish lighthearted (ie not serious) jibes i'd suggest another clan may be more suitable. However when laying the smack down, jibes are allowed to be immature.

If there is an issue TELL ME, were not 15 yo's (well most of us). How often do you see neighbours complain first to the council and then have a huge argument, when a word beforehand would have settled the issue right there and then.

So yes i will contain myself a little, and tell me if it affects you personally.

Occasional offensive language or jests or smackdown is all fun and is acceptable. I think perhaps last night went off the deep end and Blood and Wiz could have taken their comments to tells instead. I wasn't even in clan chat and I got to hear all about it from a number of sources and really wasn't impressed.

If I'd been in chat then I'd have requested that it be toned down a little. Unfortunately since I was playing an alt I did not have any recourse at the time.

Clannies need to remember common courtesy at all times.
This is non negotiable.
Clannies need to remember the clan chat is not always for 1-1 conversations.

to be fair. if we are all adults, then we know that they're only words, and anyone seriously offended by swearwords needs to do some adjusting this isnt the 1950's, swearing is common language now days. i personally dont swear ALOT unless im with family or close friends, i can control myself but please...
