I enjoy the challenge of building social systems which can compensate for both styles of play. There will always be the powergamers and casuals in MMO's
The twain shall never meet but perhaps a mutual understanding of each others approach to gaming can go some ways in devising strategies for the meshing of the two within an "inclusive" MMO community.

You make a good point tho, but the way I see it at the end of the day you want warm bodies behind keyboards as a resource to harness the full potential of the game.
Since you can't please everyone the intent is for everyone to at least take away more positives from the experience than negatives.

    resting bonus...increase in drop rate?
leaves a lot to be exploted..most players have more then one account
will it be a bonus for an inactive account...or toon based
will it be lv restricted say to under 40s
be based of your highest toon
will it affect party drop rate
i would be more then willing to let an account go inactive for mounth or longer
if NC soft would guarantee a weapon/armor drop
can you say Lv 63 EE inactive 1 mounth looking for party
yes i get my moneys worth out of L2 i play a lot of hours
but i dont consider my self hard core..i dont have anyone at 75

    58 TH fodder
    47 SK Valkiztar
    47 SE USAUSA
    45 SR Nomoke
35 cleric Momoku...my second toon ...no love for poor momo havent kiiled him

I am probably one of the most casual players out of everyone due to family commitments, and I play more for the social interaction, the fact that I am also addicted to the damn thing and love the structure of the game. I find that the structure of the game you can enjoy regardless of whether you are hard core or not, there are several aspects to the game that can be enjoyed eg: quests, teaming with players onsite that aren’t part of your clan, joining in organized parties with clan, PVP etc, if you cant find a happy medium in the game that you enjoy and can be part of, then maybe you shouldn’t be playing. I think there is plenty of aspects of the game that can be enjoyed by different playing techniques (beit hardcore or casual). That’s my 2cents worth. And I am happy to say our clan is very supportive / tolerant of the different styles. I dont think there is a great need for changes to be made as nishy pointed out, the changes that could be made WILL be easily exploited by alot.
