The best tip for casters is : ....GET YOURSELF A WAND.
when the mobs on buggerall hp, crack out a wand and bust some wandy dps on his ass.
Priests have a playstyle unto themselves. at low levels my style was mindblast, dot, shield myself, wand wand wand wand. Sometimes id drop the mindblast completely.
Kane would be better input for you here, hes got a kickass 60 UD priesty.Im also pretty sure hes got the method down pat for solo and pvp.
Spec shadow for levelling and get blackout![]()
my preist is lvl 20 atm and i can tell you its pretty hard 10-25 because of lack of dps, but further on you pwn...
but yeah do a shadow talent spec, see what skills you might like to use and go with it. do not level as holy or disc...you will take forever. and most likely not make it to 60 because it is so hard.
wand is very important like sean said. the good thing about going priest is...EVERYONE WILL LOVE YOU. be prepared for "wanna come do WC or RFC plz"...because priest is like the least played class but the most needed in any raid.
also. be undead. you get a curse and a second dot that heals you.
also: if you want to be an endgame healer..but dont want to be shit at lvling and pvp still higher lvls...try a druid. extremely usefull in any party...and at lvl 60 in half feral half resto specs they can have the same mana as priests...awesome regen over time skills and get heal just as good as a preist...then you jump into cat form and become a rogue that outdps' rogues lol.
Stoopid druids
The ultimate hybrids![]()
shadow until level 60. stay shadow unless you absolutely dont mind gimping yourself for end game raids. this may change with the priest review in the upcoming patch however.
blackout is nice, but for levelling, take spirit tap as your first five talent points, the added mana regeneration after every kill is rather lovely.
especially on a new server like this, shadow priests are going to be VERY powerful in pvp, until people start to get the very end game gear, in which case you turn into fodder.
