    NTG contract

So on Friday in a meeting hosted by CSG. CSG told CSC employees that CSG were no longer going to transfer over staff from the CSC side...
Anyone who wanted a job would have to apply like everone else.
Now why did CSG do this?
I’m thinking because they heard CSC were not going pay redundancy packages
This way CSC has to pay out there staff as they are going to CSG as new staff...
In which case... THANK YOU CSG... That’s the only reason I can see...
    Scott? Other random people? Input

EDIT: Just a note that CSC were hoping for a transfer over of staff as then CSC do no have to pay out any of there staff.

sounds like sour grapes cause CSC got WTF pwnd.

From what I have heard internal. Fuji shat all over CSC when they were up there.

Most of the high end jobs have been filled from what I can understand.

    Good for me though
Can always come back up there now for at least the next 4years and get a job.

It wouldnt be in there interests to do so.
If they offered most of us an unreasonable salary, alot of people would walk. Then they'd have alot less experienced Helpdesk staff ready for the transition of the contract. That would impact their SLA's and contribute to a pretty shitty start to their term.

The fact that they are employing CSC staff as new employees, only really affects things like Long Service Leave. Its not really CSG's problem, if CSC pay it out or not. As far as redundency packages go, Im personally not affected, as im permanent with an end-date.

Nothing was ever written in stone with the contract hand-over. CSC made it abundantly clear that they were TRYING to get CSG to do what they wanted, in regards to employment of CSC staff. Obviously CSC's hopes were dashed when CSG were adament they'd do things their way, and rightly so.

CSG are running the same deal as they are now.

    Imagine Fuji as CSC.

CSG are still going to handle FS and that sort of stuff. Im pretty sure from what ive heard Fuji are looking after the desk.

one can't do it without the other. csc has the staff, csg has the contract, the fat cats at the top are just fighting over what will be left. mergers and changovers are always a shitfight. i doubt that fuji/csg can handle everything without using csc staff.

neither do I .. however if they run like they do everywhere else. all the HD people will be on contracts not full time employment.

uh, more than likely csg doesn't want to be liable for any carry over entitlements. they couldn't care less if you get them or not, they just don't want to be the ones paying them.

if you went to the meeting and didn't get it you were not listing properly. the view of CSC staff comming across in a group move was not one that was even known to CSG. it simply was never on the cards. it will also meen you will possibily be able to neg your own contract based upon your skills and exerince.

while this contract has simalarities with the old one it also has major diferneces. alot of it tec but also structural. i found that it was made pretty clear in the presintation.

also there will be an extra ~40+ jobs in this contract so the chances of you guys getting your jobs again is pretty good.

at the end of the day fuji does things differently to CSC. CSC is your employer it is there responsibility to look after it's employees not Fuji/CSG.
