  • GSL Super Tournament enters round of 16 tonight

The field has been whittled down from 64 players and now we're getting into the pointy end of the tournament with only the absolute best Starcraft II players remaining. Tonight the first group of 8 players will be facing off to get into the next round and one step closer to the US$93,000 first place prize. Find out how you can watch live...

Be sure to check out match 1 in particular which features SlayerSGanZI versus SlayerSMMA. This will be an extremely high-level TvT match up. Both players are members of the SlayerS team which won the GSL Team League in May. GanZI enters the round of 16 having defeated two-time GSL champion IMMvp in his round of 32 match. MMA is himself a previous GSL champion and has just returned from his triumphant trip to the US last weekend where he was crowned Starcraft 2 champion of the Columbus Major League Gaming tournament defeating players like LoSirA, IdrA, NaNiwa and KiWiKaKi along the way.

The other three matches being played tonight are all ZvT featuring talented players like MarineKingPrime, TheBestfOu, SlayerS_Ryung and SlayerS_Min.

To watch the games get along to http://www.gomtv.net and register an account. You can then tune in when the stream starts and watch the standard def stream for free. You can also purchase a season pass for $10 which lets you watch all streams for the rest of the tournament in high quality and also gives you permanent access to the VODs for every game.

    Stream goes live at:
    Perth - 5.10pm
    Darwin/Adelaide - 6.40pm
    Bris/Syd/Mel - 7.10pm

    by rec
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta impressions
    by rec
I've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
