ID:	597286Unfortunately for our PlayStation 3 brethren, they may never see a fix to the biggest issue plaguing their Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim experience. Fallout: New Vegas director, Joshua Sawyer, says the 'PS3 lag' problem is an "an engine-level issue with how the save game data is stored" and would take a "large time commitment" to fix.

Elaborating, he said "the longer you play a character, the more bit differences on objects (characters, pencils on tables, containers, etc.) get saved off and carried around in memory, I think we've seen save games that are pushing 19 megs, which can be really crippling in some areas."

One user asked if the problems are exclusive to the PS3, to which Sawyer answered "as with Fallout 3 and Skyrim, the problems are most pronounced on the PS3 because the PS3 has a divided memory pool. The Xbox 360 has a unified memory pool: 512 megs of RAM usable as system memory or graphics memory. The PS3 has a divided memory pool: 256 megs for system, 256 for graphics. It's the same total amount of memory, but not as flexible for a developer to make use of."

Hmmm that is a bugger for PS3 owners and would lead me to thinking would a SSD be able to be put into the PS3?.

You can indeed put an SSD in a PS3, but it probably won't fix this issue as it sounds like its a memory issue.

Glad I didn't give in to temptation while I was on bad internet for a few weeks and buy Skyrim for my PS3.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

I've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
