ID:	597369News.com.au is reporting that today a bill to amend the Classification Act 1995 and Broadcasting Services Act 1992 to include an R18+ classification for video games has been introduced in the Senate. It's actually happening! Later this month while you're enjoying Syndicate along with everyone else take a moment to appreciate the fact it might be the last time you play a (decent) game that was banned in Australia!

Funny thing is, both laws are (and will continue to be) made completely irrelevant, thanks to the internets.

Its a better alternative to removing MA15+ altogether.

What is it with the GA's we get in this state.... dumbasses.

It is essentially removing MA15+, it just means now you have two R18+ categories, with one confusingly named MA15+.

Put on my cynicism hat, and I could say that the SA Attorney General is the only one being honest about the rating, see previous conspiracy posts above.

South Australia does seem to have a large percentage of silly old fuckers based on representative politics.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was just updated again, making a number of changes and additions to the game. The default map has been switched from Inferno to Train, which appears to be a far better recreation than Inferno, apart from the fog issue. There are also a bunch of new weapons: the Para, the TEC-9 Pistol, the SG 552 (pictured), and the AUG....

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive beta impressions
    by rec
I've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
