World of Warcraft free until level 20
Blizzard has just revealed a new account that removes time limitations on their typical 'trial'. Instead, new accounts will allow unrestricted access all the way up to level 20 before a subscription is required. Thereafter, you'll need to spend $20 for the full gaming which includes the Burning Crusade expansion, and raises your level cap to 70. Team Fortress 2 takes #1 spot from Counter-Strike
Last week Team Fortress 2 went free to play (F2P), with its biggest update since the game was released in 2007. Since then, TF2 has managed to topple Counter-Strike as the world's most played online first person shooter. Today's peak number of players for CS was 65,420, with TF2 far ahead reaching 97,917. Whether TF2 will now retain the position is another matter, but after what felt like a decade of CS remaining the most popular FPS in the world, it's a refreshing sight.

F1 2011's debut developer diary has arrived
It sounds like the guys at Codemasters have made huge bounds with F1 2011 over its predecessor, and they talk of a greater emphasis on multiplayer. This means 16 cars online, split-screen for the lounge room and a co-op season. Hopefully it also means there'll be some client-server checks upon connection, so cheaters can't conveniently run rampant again. To see it for yourself, click play on the video embed.

SW:TOR beta feedback from Penny Arcade's Gabe
If you're someone who has followed Penny Arcade for any amount of time then you know that Mike Krahulik (aka Gabe) is an epic Star Wars nerd. He's been playing BioWare's upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO for the last month and has just shared his thoughts. Although the game is still in beta and his post hardly constitutes a review it is still arguably the first feedback so far on the title from a gamer's perspective....

by recI've been shooting some face in the CS:GO beta for the first time this evening, and there's quite a bit to talk about. I should preface this impressions article with the note that while I used to play at a national level, it has been years since I've delved into any CS in any serious capacity. I'm sure there will be a number of current day elitists out there who disagree with my opinions, but I'm not claiming this as gospel, so append as much or as little weight to these opinions as you care to....
