Oh my, what a disappointment Aliens vs Predator has been. I posted my negative thoughts on the multiplayer demo prior to release, and since then I've had a chance to try out all of the other game modes - unfortunately my opinion has not been bettered.
The game is selling well, though. It has taken top spot on the UK charts, and is moving a good number of units in other regions too. There's a truth beyond the sales statistics, though......

Assassin's Creed 2 now available for pre-purchase
I've been hanging out for Assassin's Creed II for some time, having not played the console release. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could now pre-purchase the highly rated sequel on Steam for $59.99 USD. The price remains the same between AU and US stores, however no price has been listed for the UK at this stage - which is typically cheaper. The game is set to unlock on March 10th.... -

Street Fighter: The Complete History
Love Street Fighter? I do, despite losing interest in the fighting genre somewhat. I don't claim to be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the long running, now timeless franchise - but soon could be. On the 17th of March, a book is set to hit stands that reveals all, explaining the history of the iconic fighting series. Street Fighter: The Complete History is what you'll need to be looking for, and features interviews and over 200 pieces of artwork... -

EA: Infinity Ward can't compete with DICE online
CVG is reporting that Electronic Arts has dropped some rather bold statements, challenging the supremacy of the Modern Warfare franchise. When speaking to MCV mag, EA product manager Will Graham explained that "DICE is at the forefront of defining the multiplayer and online vehicle warfare space and has substantial pedigree in this area following many years of success. We genuinely believe there isn't a developer out there that competes with DICE in this space, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is going cement that"...

by cmdr_lynchieThe first two instalments of the Mass Effect series are widely considered to be some of the best games ever made. Certainly they rank among the greatest RPGs. With the outstanding quality of their story telling, and their stunning audio and visuals, they set the bar so high for the third instalment that some began to wonder if disappointment was inevitable. Thankfully the doubters have been proven wrong, as with Mass Effect 3 Bioware has not only cleared the bar, but they raised it several not...
