    News.com.au's technology column has an another article on our wonderful game classification debacle, and has some choice quotes from Australia's head of Sony Computer Entertainment. "Gaming has moved on, the choice of content has moved on and I think it is time Australia gets in step with the rest of the world and has an R rating classification," Michael Ephraim told AAP at a Playstation announcement in Sydney......

    Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed on Twitter that the forthcoming Sony PlayStation Vita will be region free. When asked if the new handheld would be region free, the president of Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment said in reply "Yes it is". This means you'll be able to import games from the US or Japan and play them without a hitch! PlayStation Vita launches in Japan on December 17.     Straight out of GamesCom 2011 is this new Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception trailer, and it's every bit as awesome as an Uncharted fan would hope for. Seen during Sony's press conference, Naughty Dog get Drake climbing moving planes, falling out of them, while looking handsome doing it. James Bond eat your heart out; bring on November.

    Forum resident grandinferno posted the new Battlefield 3 multiplayer trailer from GamesCom earlier today, which looks pretty freaking incredible. That's not all that's being shown at GamesCom in Germany, however. There is also a demonstration of BF3 co-op on the PlayStation 3 - check it out below...

  • PlayStation 4 may surface as early as 2012

    The last round of speculation and rumour suggested a 2014 release for the PlayStation 4. However a new Digi Times Report claims Sony's Taiwan-based partners, Foxconn and Pegatron Technology, will begin production of the PS4 at the end of 2011 - ready for a 2012 release. Not only that, but it is said that the console is set to feature movement-based controls, not dissimilar to Microsoft's Kinect.

  • Limbo heading to the PlayStation 3

    It looks like the highest grossing Xbox Live Arcade title for 2010, Playdead's critically acclaimed Limbo, might well be headed to the PlayStation 3. Gematsu are reporting that a Korean Game Rating Board classification filed on June 29 lists the game as 15+, with Sony Computer Entertainment Korea as the publisher. Playdead has been contacted for comment....
