    Mass Effect 3 screenshotThere was plenty of murmurs at E3 2011 about BioWare's interest in multiplayer, even in regards to the Mass Effect universe. Eurogamer is now claiming that information from undisclosed sources confirm that Mass Effect 3 will feature a standalone, four-player co-operative mode. It's said the co-op missions won't tie into the main storyline, and are designed around replay value.


    Here's what was said at E3 prior to this anonymous confirmation:

    "We haven't talked at all about multiplayer in the Mass Effect franchise, but we're exploring multiplayer in all of our games and all of our franchises," BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka told Eurogamer.

    "It's always an idea we're interested in.

    "The short answer is we have no comment on that. But we're interested in the idea of multiplayer."

  • $1.6 million Battlefield 3 tournament announced

    Partnering with Virgin Gaming, EA have revealed a $1,600,000 "Worldwide Conquest" cash prize tournament for their forthcoming first-person-shoot epic, Battlefield 3.   • F1 2011 dev diary covers safety car, DRS, KERS

    I wasn't too sure about an F1 2011 purchase, with concerns about how different or how much of an improvement it could be over 2010. But, the demonstration of new feature inclusions such as DRS, KERS and the safety car have secured my $50. This final video developer diary for F1 2011 features Senior Producer Paul Jeal and Chief Games Designer Stephen Hood, talking about those aforementioned season updates.

    F1 2011 will be available on Steam come September 22nd.
