I miss this place!

I miss swapping Commodore 64 games on 5.25 floppy disks via australia post. The excitement of sneaking off at lunchtime from school to check the mail in case new games had turned up in time for computer class that afternoon...

I can has fraudband?

So Tony Rabbits party has decided they can run cheaper broadband by using two tin cans and a string. Here's a few pics from the news.com.au site that were apparently floating around that "social media" thingamabob today. Its nice to know that the only alternative to julia's mob are at the cutting edge of copper tech…

Laptop Ram DDR2 I NEEDS! :)

you have any luck at JB's? I've got some freight airbagging it by around lunch Thursday, I can get a stick chucked in if you want. Go to Altech Computers Australia - Home page and pick something out, i'll do it for the same or less than their rrp from the website. You'll have to pick up from winnellie in business ho…

mb and cpu dead??

Quote from Bad Crispy;408613: its only ever run on a 700w ups, along with my modem, switch, nas, bothh monitors, keyboard and speakers. What type of UPS? Stand-by, line interactive, or double conversion?

My new toy

Hmm I read that the warranty is international too so importing one wont seem so crazy, even with the extra 10% for GST. No free battery tho I expect.

My new toy

Quote from mepm;408502: i would recommend importing it from U.S. as its a thousand dollars cheaper and comes with an IPS & gorilla glass panel. The aussie one doesn't have IPS and Gorilla Glass? Where in the us is it cheaper? I've searched amazon and ebay us, the pricing isn't that much better. edit: found one http:…

My new toy

the i7 seems a bit exe, 900 more for a battery pack, processor, ram and storage upgrade? is it worth it? where did you buy yours?

My new toy

How much did you pay for it? I've seen em for around 2400, looks a bit exe... Did you get a better deal than that?

Random Gear

Quote from CyphiX;408428: As long as ya keep all my old skool stuff!!! :D That stuff is gold! ^_^ That's all I'm waiting for him to post, all that new stuff he's listed is crap... Cmon Jamez, you know you need the cash, post up the treasure.....

Big Fish Graphics

They've had some good coverage and reviews in Fishing World, Australias top fishing magazine. Reidys Lures also have some good looking tops. Both great NT businesses.

WTB ipod dock

whatever happened with those consoles you wanted to sell? i was keen but never heard back from you. in particular looking for a saturn and maybe a sega master system, and the neo geo stuff.

NBN Rollout Darwin

NBN is Federal. The Libs get no say in the rollout at this point in time.

Interactive wireless projectors

Much nicer unit. The interactive receiver would be built into the projector itself. High lumens so would be very forgiving in a bright room. I still expect it would suck though with motion over wireless.
