  • Android iPhoDroid users connect

Hi, I'm looking to connect with coders or users doing Android and iPhoDroid app's or dev here in Adelaide. Anyone cook'n with the stuff?

What do you do man? I'm a graphic designer so I can certainly assist with interface stuff.

      Thanks GIf
Looking to dev 'serious' app's for consumers and prof users in relation to energy and sustainability.
The graphics side is the lesser of my needs as I have skills/knowhow in that area already. But I could always use more with my own time max out lots so will get back to ya later

One of the biggest problems with the Android application market at the moment is a lack of polish. If you're looking for professional coders but not professional designers - interface and interaction process specialists - then you've already gotten off on the wrong foot.

Most people have the skills/knowhow to cook a meal, but cooking a nice meal is another matter entirely.

We already have web, iPhone and iPad apps, and I'm looking at doing something similar but different for Android separately from the team that did those. Likewise am looking for fresh creative input as well.

Can you link us to your website for the "i" stuff?

Not at this time. It's still on the dev site, manually loaded, and not for public consumption yet.

So why actively look in forums for ppl to help if you're not willing to show them what you have done???

ResLo, I'm more than happy to show them face-to-face, but not online for the world to see.

You wouldn't believe I ran into pwiz face-to-face at work the other day. Unbelievable. App looks good and has heaps of potential.

                      Check your PMs pwiz.

                        Small Town

Yeah it was freaky running into you at JB's like that. It's a small town as you said.
The iPhone app I showed you is the pre-release version still served from a dev platform, and will have a lot more 'improvements' before we go public.
We're unsure how far we'll go before we start the process of adding/converting an Android version, but it wont be far off, a couple months at most.
I'm on the process of sourcing 5" or 7" Android tablets which will form the basis of an in-home platform for the app's. The Android version(s) will be configured for both phone and tablet platforms. Which also brings up the issue of versions - the tablets can come in Android 2.1, 2.1 and lower but I dont think any of the phones come stock with those. With all that you can see there's a potential for adding functionality for a tablet implementation that's not necessarily exactly the same as that for a phone device.
Anyway, let's talk about how you and your associates might work on this, tools, languages etc.

                        Cheers, Paul
