  • karama internode internet issues

Anyone in darwin specifically Karama and with Internode ( or any ISP apparently) noticed only in the last few months high ping rates, slow downloads etc in the afternoons through to midnight that arent 'officially' ( cause telstra hasnt recieved enought complaints about it) a congestion problem ?

If so could you plz put in a help ticket with shitty afternoon ping rates as proof.
Between myself, my sister, her friend and my sister in law ( who all live in karama) having the same issue it isnt enough to get teh Big T do actually do something.

From about 5.30pm through to midnight my ping rate fluctuates from 56 - 234 ms ping to node. From midnight through to mid arvo its sits stable between 49-53ms.
I cant play on some of my isp (internode) servers due to my ping rate ( reason i get kicked form the server states its for low ping only) downloads have gone from 2000 kBytes down to around 550 kBytes

Ive done the whole diffferent modem, different pc, changed filter, wiring, cabling etc - but that is apparently not enough proof.

We used to have to get about 1/2 dozen people to put in tickets when the routing direction changed and doubled our ping rates to node servers a while back.

Im looking at you Joshua!!!! - unless you now live on campus......to save money for noodles or something

If anyone is on iiNet too and seeing similar problems I could colate that for you and lodge an event for the OpsCen can look into. If you do have it and looked at though the normal process I can send you my staff email and get it looked into wholistically.

          Thanks Lothar

Cheers mungus! Both internode.on.net and games.on.net get similar results

Aegis, nope - just people on Tel$tra. The rest of my job deficient, sobriety challenged, educationally retarded neighbourhood wouldnt know what teh internets was

The response from Node was ( this is the way i read it) it looks like congestion, it sounds like congestion, but as telstra have not told us of a problem - ergo its not congestion.........But gather the troops and if there is enough complaints then we can get it looked at.

my pings are pretty much reflecting what you're saying. i'll lodge a ticket with node.

              morning:

              Code:
Pinging internode.on.net [150.101.140.197] with 32 bytes of data:
              Reply from 150.101.140.197: bytes=32 time=51ms TTL=60

Thanks mungus - should have said node also want at least a 50 ping ( guessing you know how to do that). They told me a 100 ping but the 50 ping results look exactly the same as 100 in my opinion.

They also wanted me to do an average download speed test of a 5Gb file, then that same file aling with a 1Gb file and a 100mb file all at the same time.....all points to it being snafu....still.
Even my monthly usage meter says my connections in the evenings is crap!

Cheers josh - what are you doing now, finished uni, and got employed?!?!
