    DGA 65
    UPDATED:

    Sponsored by:
Darwin Community Arts, and The IT Shack.

DATE: Friday 30th October - Saturday 31st October.

TIME: 5:30PM - 6PM (times may vary, and setup assistance may be required at 5:30)

LOCATION: Around the back of Malak shops. The old Video 2000 building.

FEE: $20 Admission. We will no longer be offering discounts at the moment to ensure prizes are available at the next LANs.

LIMIT: We do not have a hard limit at this stage, though soft limit of 50-60 people.

    * update * PIZZA: I'm pleased to announce assisstance from Pizzahut for this LAN and will be supplying large pizza's for $6.50 each. The orders will be taken from 6:45PM - 7:00PM. With any luck, we'll have them to you at 7:30PM.

    IMPORTANT ADVISORY NOTES:
+ DGA is not looking to include membership at the moment.
+ Glass bottles are to be taken with you!
+ Be mindful of personal space at the LAN, it's at a premium.
+ Be mindful that there are some young adults not old enough to legally view pornographic material. This hasn't been an issue for many years, but is due for reminding.
+ We have a projector now.
+ DGA is now a full gigabit network setup.
+ Internet issues have been resolved.

FILE SHARING: DGA now has a file server. It is accessed at the LAN, by opening an explorer window and typing "//server". Alternatively it can be found on the network when browsing.
This is purely there as a fast way of communicating files required for gaming (ie, mods etc). We take no responsibility for the material found on this machine, and anything illegal will be promptly discarded before the end of each LAN.

HELPERS: If you'd like to help with setup or packup we appreciate it. Arriving promptly ensure your help, as well as staying to the end.

MONITORS & COMPUTERS: It's not unusual for people to have large machines these days. Each table is approximately 2400mm's accross, which permits 800mm's of useable area for each person. Additionally they're approximately 900mm's deep. How you set yourself up in that area is your choice. If you have equipment that will overhang this area, arrangements can sometimes be made to house you on the end of a table so as to not interfere with other gamers. There is no guarentee you will have room if you do not fit in this space.

SPEAKERS: Small desktop speakers are permitted, and must be used accordingly. Do not leave music playing while you're away from your machine, and be mindful of the time of day (or night) when you adjust your volume.

TIME TABLE: A new time table will be arranged in the coming days including:
    GAMES:
+ LEFT 4 DEAD (Very Popular)
    + WarCraft 3 (Very Popular)
    + Counter Strike (Very Popular)
+ Grid (Popular 2nd Day game)
    + Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X
    + Armagetron (Tron)
+ Aion (this is early morning only permissible, during non peak times)
    and many more.

PLEASE NOTE: While we support Clans, any matches with games will be random draw unless competitive clans can be produced, then matches may be held separately.

    ACTIVITIES:
+ Keyboard Rebuild - The goal is to replace all the keys on a keyboard in the shortest amount of time possible. We'll be making efforts to ensure all keyboards are the same this time around. This is open to every paying entrant. The prize is awarded to the first person to complete the keyboard with the majority of keys places correctly. If you complete the keyboard, and one key is wrong, then you'll have to fix the fault, and return for a recheck.
The check is stopped when an error is found, and continued after the correction is made.
Prize is a new gaming keyboard.
+ Mouse Toss - There is a target on the ground, you have a mouse. Throw that mouse using the demonstrated throwing technique (minimum three orbits) into the target. Knocking out other mice is allowed.
Prize is a new gaming mouse.
    + More.

    PRIZES: TBA.

    Your Computer
Computers are constantly being upgraded, and it's worth noting that not all machines are created equally.
For most games played at the LAN, a graphics card that support DX10 should be used, however isn't necessary. If you have any doubts of your machine being able to handle the games, please feel free to post a comment, or contact myself [email protected]. I'm happy to answer your questions.
If you require a new computer please visit our sponsor The IT Shack for a quote and drop DGA as the reference.

I suggest getting rid GRID and HAWX off the list as no one plays them.

Also will there be another timetable as it was an awesome idea

Should we get a custom built kagetsu branded antenna for the projector or bring one along?

What about a Wii comp? I remember the Wii Sports Tennis one being HEAPS of fun.

We won't be having Digital TV this time, it was a one off for the football/rugby.

                          Games are all doable though.
