Performance increase for some:

Forcing dx9 in the settings file seems to work for quite a few people.
I'm running on an i7920 + 2*5770's crossfired and it's running fine at 1920*1080 on auto though.

Update: Jesper Svennevid, @jespersvennevid has tweeted that DICE will initiate a update sometime January 29th. Below is the full tweet;

On the 29th of January we will do maintenance to resolve issues with the game, expect downtime #BFBC2

Update #1: @jespersvennevid: We’re aiming for 2AM PST (10AM GMT), and it shouldn’t be long – but we are a bit vague on purpose if issues turn up #BFBC2

I get heaps of "connection to the game server has been lost. please check your network connection and try again."

it happens every 5 mins, even on the GA servers
