  • DayZ mod for Arma II

Might just have to buy Arma II, this is a great concept that looks like it'd be a blast to play with friends:
    Step 1. Scavenge
    Step 2. Slay
    Step 3. Survive

"A 225 km2 open world post-soviet state and one of the areas hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few who have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population, now infected with the disease.

"Go Solo, team up with friends or take on the world as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive."

At the moment, the gameplay is very cod'ish due to the publicity of the game. Once Rocket(dev) releases measures to reduce the shoot on sight gameplay it should be more enjoyable.

Plus if you want better character models, you will need to purchase the PMC dlc.

                  Note:
You need both ARMA II and Operation Arrow Head to play Day Z

Also, don't buy Arma II and the OA expansion separately, you'll save $10 by buying "Combined Operations" which includes the game and the exp.

Was playing this for a bit before D3 came out, will def go back, hell of an atmospheric game.
Longest life for me so far only about 2 hours.
If you are going to play, be warned its in real time so dont start playing at night, Wait till day time so you can at least get your bearings.
starting a game you have no idea how to play when you cannot see a single thing (not kidding its pitch black), and now that they have fixed ladders its even more fun lol.

Yeah after about 2 hours, and 6 wasted flares the moon rose, but it was still very much to dark to do much of anything useful...
Untill this dude picked me up in a chopper anyways (which somehow got destroyed by zombies)

Had massive issues evening trying to join servers, kept getting a "you were kicked off the game" error message. Fixed now though: http://gamers-underground.com/action...tml#post406785
