Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand landed on Xbox 360 and PC last night. If you weren't aware, it has already been available on the PlayStation 3 for a week. Owners of the Limited Edition get the DLC pack including Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula at no extra charge. Battlefield 3 shows off Wake Island
Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand was released for the PlayStation 3 a couple of days ago, while the rest of us on PC and Xbox 360 have to hold on just a wee bit longer - five days in fact. While we wait to play it first hand, DICE have produced a new trailer to watch which gives us a peak into the chaos we can anticipate on the re-imagined Wake Island.

At approximately 6pm AEST on December 6th, that's Tuesday next week, Battlefield 3 will be updated with a 2GB client patch as well as a server update. The reason for such a hefty client patch is that it contains content required for BF3's Back to Karkand expansion. For a long list of specifics explaining what fixes and changes have been made, read on.

DICE has confirmed that their Battlefield 3 'Back to Karkand' DLC pack will arrive on PS3 on December 6, followed a week later by PC and Xbox 360 - which while unconfirmed would pencil it in for a December 13 release. The expansion will feature four classic Battlefield maps including Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula.

A Gulf of Oman gameplay trailer has been released by DICE showing off a bunch of awesome vehicle and destruction footage. Three popular vehicles from Battlefield 2 return with the Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion including the STOVL fighter jet and desert buggy. Why wait until the 27th? Battlefield 3 went live in the USA four hours ago and now you can play it too. You will however need to organise a VPN account. Once you have yourself a trial or paid VPN account with access to an American server, connect to that, and then activate the game. Once activated, disconnect from your VPN otherwise all of your traffic will be routed internationally, and you can expect sky-high pings.
