Client and server patches for Battlefield 3 due Tuesday
At approximately 6pm AEST on December 6th, that's Tuesday next week, Battlefield 3 will be updated with a 2GB client patch as well as a server update. The reason for such a hefty client patch is that it contains content required for BF3's Back to Karkand expansion. Why wait until the 27th? Battlefield 3 went live in the USA four hours ago and now you can play it too. You will however need to organise a VPN account. Once you have yourself a trial or paid VPN account with access to an American server, connect to that, and then activate the game. Once activated, disconnect from your VPN otherwise all of your traffic will be routed internationally, and you can expect sky-high pings.

Battlefield 3 open beta starts tonight, new client required
With Battlelog being down for maintenance in preparation for the open beta kicking off tonight, I thought I'd check my Battlefield 3 Beta client for updates. It turns out there is an update, a 3.9GB one. Yes, you're being asked to download the entire client yet again for the open beta.
To begin downloading it yourself, right click on your Battlefield 3 Beta icon and click update.
