in ReviewsDeus Ex: Human Revolution review
By the time I could decrypt Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Steam I had already been salivating for many months. Developer diary reveals and pre-release reviews showcasing the gorgeous black and gold cities of the future, cyborg-like augmentation and arsenal upgrades had sent me into a sci-fi spin. While only a temporary feeling, firing up the game for the first time would have had me regretting my purchase, if I didn't get it for the ludicrously low price of $27. Why? Well, the engine is unarguab...

in NewsGameStop stealing boxed Deus Ex extras from customers
In a GameSpy exclusive it has been revealed that GameStop has instructed staff to open all boxes of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and remove the bundled OnLive codes prior to sale, valued at USD $49.99. This OnLive code is essentially a free digital copy of the game, letting customers add the title to an OnLive account. Announced in 2009 and launched in 2010, OnLive is a cloud computing games service, where the game is stored and rendered on remote servers, then synchronised and streamed to your scr...

in NewsDeus Ex: Human Revolution launch trailer
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is 13 hours away from unlock on the Australian Steam store. That's why you should fire up a US VPN and play it right now, as it's already out in the USA and playable if Steam sees that you're on a US IP. While you contemplating that, check out the embedded launch trailer.

Deus Ex Human Revolution tweaks n fixes
Since I can't play at the moment, I figured I'd trawl the Steam forums for the inevitable issues and (hopeful) fixes.
* Biggest issue I've come across so far is horrible input lag on the PC. This thread What's with the awful mouse movement in HR? - Steam Users' Forums has a few solutions...Last edited by Aegis; 23-08-11, 10:00 PM.

in NewsRetail copies of Deus Ex are region locked
For those of you who have ordered a boxed copy of Deus Ex from an international store, I have some bad news for you: activating the game won't be possible. And the reason? There wasn't enough room for all language audio on the DVD, so they've created various masters for various languages. You wouldn't want to be trying to play Human Revolution in Russian, after all.
This doesn't effect digital distribution services, so if you snapped up a bargain through Green Man Gaming for example,... -

in NewsHuman Revolution dev says play it on PC
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a mere seven days from release and the Eidos hype machine is ramping up with the new TV spot seen below. It features a song called My World, created exclusively for the game by Transmissions. But before you run off and buy it for your Xbox 360, consider the developer's advice, which is to play it on the PC. Jurjen Katsman, founder of Nixxes Software, says "real-time tessellation, improved Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, improved blurs and depth of field" are just so...

in NewsESRB rates Deus Ex: Human Revolution Mature, reveals much
It looks like Australians may have dodged a ban with our seemingly leniant MA15+ classification for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, where the board's consumer advice is that the game contains "strong themes, violence and sexual references." America's ESRB makes several additions to that list, such as "drug reference, intense violence, strong language, use of alcohol" and rated it M. In their summary they also reveal a lot about the title:...
