Six days from now, Criterion will be releasing a free DLC pack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. But only if the game's official trailer on YouTube, embedded here, reaches one million views before then. Just when we thought the industry giant was making a change for the better, we're told Electronic Arts want to start charging for demos - and then not discount the full game for purchasers of these demos. There's no denying that in mere months EA has improved its brand image dramatically - delivering high calibre titles and promising more, with a shift from quantity to quality. It seems though that they can't escape the trap of embarrassing, money-grabbing ideas quite yet.......

Many of us have already sunk in 20+ hours of Bad Company 2 since release. And many of us already have map preferences, likes and dislikes. Thankfully, the first round of downloadable content is on its way, in the form of a map pack! They'll be free using your VIP code provided with your newly purchased copy of BC2, and will be available on the 30th of March......

It's a woeful path that developers have begun to take; creating downloadable content for the game prior to it going gold, and then often charging an additional amount for it - when it could have been included with the game's release. It seems our beloved Battlefield: Bad Company 2 may not be any holier, but whether BC2's newly announced DLC will be free or paid has not been revealed. The nifty part of this news though, is that PC may be graced with the opportunity partake if we wish......
