Harvey Norman opens "Direct Import" online shop for games

Not too long ago Kogan began selling grey-market Apple, Samsung, Canon and Nikon products at far cheaper prices than what you would find in Australian stores, online or bricks-and-mortar. JB HI-FI then went on to launch their "Direct Import" store online for digital SLR camera products, citing inflated prices by Australian suppliers as the reason.

Harvey Norman is the next in line to send a strong message about pricing in Australia, with Gerry Harvey hypocritically announcing www.h...

Skyrim street date broken, now available in stores

Skyrim's release date has been broken and is now being sold at EB Games, Game and Harvey Norman. For now, Harvey Norman is by far the best deal, but let us know if any other retailers such as JB HI-FI have gotten in on the action. Unfortunately for PC gamers, you'll still have to wait for the game's midnight unlock for Steam....

Gran Turismo 5 midnight launches and cheapest prices

Gran Turismo 5 is out tomorrow. Yes, seriously. Pinch yourself. Although, you should be warned that once you have the game, there's a 133mb patch to download, and then an hour long install thereafter. Thankfully functionality has been built in so you can play while it installs, but that patch you're just going to have to sit there and wait for. Inconveniences aside, let's move onto the topic of this article and have a look at where you should be buying this console generation's most anticipated racer....

    StarCraft II Wednesday wrap-up

A little over 30 hours since Australian release, the internet is exploding with StarCraft II, as are the Battle.net servers. Despite those intermittent problems, Blizzard have spoken out, clearly proud of the game's release. And so they should be, with hugely popular midnight launch parties and an estimated 3 million copies to be sold this week, according to industry analyst Michael Pachter.

More Australian retailers to support R18+ movement

Viva La Revolution! How do we say that in Aussie? GAME and Gametraders recently spoke to GameSpot AU about their new and public support for a ratings system revamp, which EB Games have been promoting as of late. They're doing so with eyes wide open, fully expecting and being able to adhere to strict requirements for the sale of R18+ games. This would likely include a dedicated area for these titles, off-limits to minors, and have the games stored in blank cases....
