Another gem from the currently running GamesCom in Cologne is this Mass Effect 3 trailer, showcasing the combat system. Part 1, titled Squad Leader, shows us a bit about that paired with some exciting gameplay. The blurb from EA says "Mass Effect 3 a classic, high-octane alien adventure. Straight out of GamesCom 2011 is this new Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception trailer, and it's every bit as awesome as an Uncharted fan would hope for. Seen during Sony's press conference, Naughty Dog get Drake climbing moving planes, falling out of them, while looking handsome doing it. James Bond eat your heart out; bring on November.

It's a bit Duke Nukem, it's a bit Gears of War, and it's kinda bad-ass. I'm not entirely sure yet if it's my type of game, because what I'd coin as 'mindless shooters' generally don't interest me, but this looks atmospheric, energetic, cinematic and down-right gorgeous.
