in NewsGameStop stealing boxed Deus Ex extras from customers
In a GameSpy exclusive it has been revealed that GameStop has instructed staff to open all boxes of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and remove the bundled OnLive codes prior to sale, valued at USD $49.99. This OnLive code is essentially a free digital copy of the game, letting customers add the title to an OnLive account. Announced in 2009 and launched in 2010, OnLive is a cloud computing games service, where the game is stored and rendered on remote servers, then synchronised and streamed to your scr... -

in NewsBattlefield 3 not coming to Steam
We recently broke the news about EA's announced retailer list for Battlefield 3, noting Steam's absence. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be a mistake. A financial research firm named Baird is said to have held a meeting with GameStop management recently, confirming the absence of Battlefield 3 on Steam in their report. A for effort!

in Xbox100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops taken from GameStop, at gun-point
Armed with handguns, two robbers held up a GameStop retail outlet in Maryland, USA. They made off with money, consoles and over 100 copies of the to-be-released Call of Duty sequel; Black Ops. They hit the store prior to close on Saturday night, forcing staff and customers into the storage area. Thankfully, no one was hurt, except perhaps those missing out on their now missing pre-order copies. I say we blame Grand Theft Auto.... -

Brink release date revealed
Perhaps inadvertently, a Gamestop sweepstakes promotion is the first sign of an 'official' Brink release date. Given that the promo is in conjunction with Bethesda - they even updated their blog talking about it - I guess we can safely expect the game on September 7th, 2010......
