Weeks after actual release, those of you hanging out for a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on Steam finally get your wish. It's now available for purchase via the popular digital distribution platform, priced at a reasonable AUD $49.99. If you're a fan of DLC, be aware that Criterion don't intend to release any of the additional content that is being made available for consoles, so a purchase on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 may still be your best bet....

Six days from now, Criterion will be releasing a free DLC pack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. But only if the game's official trailer on YouTube, embedded here, reaches one million views before then. In the pack would be a Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, the Lamborghini Murci?lago LP 650-4 Roadster and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition. With 14 days until the Australian release date, the EA marketing machine continues to churn out the hype for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. And I think it's working - because I'm salivating over the thought of reliving those Hot Pursuit moments from 1998, facilitated by the development team that brought us the legendary Burnout series. Here's another trailer, titled Seacrest County, exploring the fictional world that the game is set in....

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is so very close. Just a fortnight away, in fact. The demo is already out on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, for those that missed it. To promote the upcoming and highly anticipated racer, EA has produced a five-part mini-series that revolves around the adventures of two valets who are actually, but secretly, cops and street racers. E3 is such a wonderful time for gamers. It's just a constant shower of announcements, screenshots and trailers. Some of them known about, some rumored, and then there are some which seem to catch us completely by surprise.
