in ReviewsMass Effect 3 review
The first two instalments of the Mass Effect series are widely considered to be some of the best games ever made. Certainly they rank among the greatest RPGs. With the outstanding quality of their story telling, and their stunning audio and visuals, they set the bar so high for the third instalment that some began to wonder if disappointment was inevitable. Thankfully the doubters have been proven wrong, as with Mass Effect 3 Bioware has not only cleared the bar, but they raised it several not... -

in XboxExpect to find the Mass Effect movie at Comic-Con
We've been left in the dark regarding any potential Mass Effect film for quite a long time, but finally dawn breaks, and it's bright! The studio behind Inception and The Dark Knight, Legendary Pictures, is at the helm - having snatched up the rights to the film in May 2010. Excitingly, they've just delivered a press release revealing that it will be a part of their line-up at Comic-Con this July! Screenwriter Mark Protosevich will attend as a part of the studio's panel, as will BioWare's Casey Hudso... -

in XboxMultiplayer for Mass Effect accidentally confirmed
A job listing detailing a vacancy at Bioware's Montreal studio, published by EA senior recruiter Jeff Goldstein on LinkIn, is titled 'Multiplayer programmer (Mass Effect Franchise)'. Who knows if it's co-op for Mass Effect 3, or if they're developing a Mass Effect MMO, but expect some multiplayer action in the Mass Effect universe sometime in the not too distant future..... -

Do you have faith in the ability of the guys behind 300, The Dark Knight and Watchmen? Me too! That's why I'm so excited to hear that they've snapped up the rights to a live-action Mass Effect film; my most beloved sci-fi game in the history of sci-fi games..... -

Mass Effect 2 headed to Playstation 3?
A handful of code has been retrieved from one of the 2 million recently sold copies of Mass Effect 2. If not faux, this code points definitively to Playstation 3 support in some fashion, with 'PS3' mentioned twice under pairs of similar configuration commands for the Xbox 360 and PC.
Push Square is reporting that "A cracked piece of Mass Effect 2 source code seems to retain two-lines of code retaining to the apparent existence of a Playstation 3 version of the game". Hit the jump for a look at the PC-retrieved code...... -

Pre-loading begins for Mass Effect 2
For those of you with Mass Effect 2 pre-orders on Steam; it's time to get pre-loading! Valve have published an update letting us know that Mass Effect 2 is now available in select countries in Europe, and while I purchased my copy from the UK Steam store, mine strictly still said "No yet released" and has commenced "Pre-loading", not downloading. If anyone else has having a different experience, be sure to leave us a comment in this article... -

Mass Effect movie a possibility
I think a Mass Effect movie could be good. Really good. And it may just happen. Mass Effect 2 project director, Casey Hudson, recently dropped a not-so-surprising bombshell about the potential future of the Mass Effect universe; "Obviously we have a tremendous amount of interest from people in Hollywood to make a major motion picture about Mass Effect". But, BioWare aren't about to hastily jump straight in...... -

Mass Effect 2 Launch Trailer
It seems there's no stopping the Mass Effect 2 hype-train. And I'm loving every moment of it. The next in BioWare's long list of recently released interviews, mini-documentaries and class reveals is the official launch trailer. In it you'll have Martin Sheen inspire you, be discouraged by an alien that's clearly using a Larynx, and meet an Aussie girl who has a laser-pistol and wears tight space pants. I think she likes me (you?). There's also a bad-ass alien, the "end-boss" I would presume, who has the perfect voice for a death metal band. It's all-round awe-inspiring with its nifty score, and is sure to deliver some goose-bumps for sci-fi fans. Who else is pumped for this game?... -

Live Mass Effect 2 demo: Friday at 6am AEST
Bioware's Mass Effect 2 news column provides details of a interesting forthcoming live demonstration event. Producer, Jesse Houston, will be playing never seen before Mass Effect 2 content on the Xfire network. We imagine he'll be doing plenty of explaining a long the way, and there will be an interactive chat session after he's done, where you can throw some questions the way of Jesse and one of the lead designers...... -

Glowing reviews for Mass Effect 2
The magazine reviews are pouring in, and fans will be delighted. Xbox World 360 has published a 6 page review, and the verdict is that BioWare's highly anticipated sequel is "arguably the best RPG in recent years," and goes on to rate the game 90%. "Magnificent characters" and "actual role-playing," are praises delivered, but it's not necessarily all positive; "Mass Effect 2 may not have quite the depth and consequences of Dragon Age - although it's impossible to tell, as both games contain so many variables - but it's the more polished and confident of the two." Earlier in January, OXM gave the game an outstanding 95%... -
Mass Effect: Revelation
I'm not normally a fiction type of guy when it comes to books - Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game being one of the few I've ever finished. But somehow, Bam not only got me onto the Mass Effect novels, but the awesome Kindle app to read them with.
I'm not far in yet, but it's already so awesome....
