Merely a fortnight ago one of Australia's most renowned development studios, Team Bondi, went into receivership. Now there's news of another Australian studio closure, that of Melbourne's Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts subsidiary. A source has told Kotaku that Patrick Soderland, EA vice president, had concluded that the an in-development 360 title would not be profitable, deciding to can the project and the studio.

The original Dead Space is still in my list of games I really need to play, and I'll need to get onto that sometime soon as the sequel is due at the end of January, 2011. Visceral Games have created a fantastically creepy trailer to build the anticipation for what might just be the best horror title of 2011. Check it out...

Update: It turns out that the next Command & Conquer is not being handled by Visceral Games, contrary to reports earlier in the week. Unfortunately for nostalgic Command & Conquer fans, you're in for more of the same. It has been confirmed by Game Informer that the next title is already in development at the same studio that brought us C&C4; EA LA. Dang....
