why not just use PCs?

thats what they are designed for. the PS2 networking will be as bad as Xbox.

PS2's have been able to network since SOCOM came out... I think SOCOM is the only game that can network play atm... My uncle was playtesting the net playability of SOCOM but i think its over now. He reckons that its pretty good.. I reckon its too much like CS on PS to bother...

Seriously, use a PC if u want to play network games consoles are fine, they just aren't good for the same things that PC's are good for

dont have to buy the games :D

God damn. Ever think that some people dont have a freakin PC? And all they have is a xbox or ps2? They would sure enjoy this online capability. It also has its advantages such as alot easier to setup and use. Also a greater difference in genre in online games, not just FPS's & RPGS (although PC is getting into more sports games etc these days). I know I LOVED my Dreamcast a couple years ago when I only had a 486 or some pos. I was playing Daytona USA ONLINE!, Quake 3, Alien Front Online (with mic support), and then I got into an online RPG called Phantasy Star Online which stole my gaming life for a whole year. Theres was loads more which I didnt bother trying out.

Yes well upgrading is kinda not a good thing for a lot of people as it costs money and also its by choice that you don't buy games and it isn't legal to do (not that you said you don't buy games you have to pay for) But when can assume using common sence that you meant you have illegal copies of games.

So not having to buy games in this case is not a benifet PC have over consols.

Man there must be something wrong with me, I have a good PC but yet i still want to play online with my console. Nah I also have a life so thats not it ;P. All the murr PC is beta dan console cause its more l33t n all that is just lame.

All there is on PC for me is FPSer's and a couple rpg's thats it. I dont play RTS games. I'll be getting xbox live for NFL2k4, Project gotham racing 2 and thats it so far for me. I'll get others as they come but yeh a sports game and a racing game, much much better on console. Also, I look foward to being able to trash talk people with an altered voice mask.

Online games with consoles are more laid back and the people aren't as serious as on PC. I look forward to getting a few mates around and playing someone on the other side of the world in a game of NFL2k4 or NHL or something. I look forward to owning some Americans at thier own game :).

Don't do the if you want to play sport play it in real life on me. I did and do still play sport, played in the NT side in my chosen sports etc etc.
