Good lan

The DC was great and the generals comp though laggy at first and with the power issues was still fun. Congrats to all the admins on their work. :P

Edit : Also as i said in the generals thread good work on the comp hamburgers.

Yea grats to Killer and Pheonix u guys played well :P

Network was dodgy for ages but thanx heaps to Coco (he rocks) for getting on top of it as soon as possible trying to get to the root.

Thanks to crazy for reasons he knows. Oh and for a good lan :P

I played heaps of Broodwars and Warcraft and Generals. Cameron did a good job running the comp. But the RTS games went off for once. Nonstop strategy which was great.

except for the brief quake game where Tn1 kicked my ass :(

The thing that i am proud to say is - DC Got a fair go!!

We had some awesome numbers for Desert Combat this time, made it very fun to play (except for me and my 50% view distance - shit machine).

Thanks go to ZeReaper, Cocky, Harbungler, Lord Monkey, Raker, Master Eater and The Crazy One for an AWESOME 2.5 hour session of Serious Sam Co-Op. That was the highlight of my night!

Got some leeching done and all was good.

yeah cs was going almost all the time but dc did get played a lot... a lot of people turned up though... does anyone know how many exctally?

Lan was cool, especially the serious sam, that was the best game of the lan.

Our table seemed to have a lot of issues, with overcrowding, then power, and network was just dodgy enough to make the games unplayable. But raker got another cable and then we were ok, however by then we missed the bulk of the gaming :P

Got a quick game of ET in, that was fun, with some chronic landmine spam (eat that unicef) but needs a lot of people like NS or DC.

Got lots of photos, and even some video of eater attacking noddy, ah it was hilarious...

Just as a note, how would people feel about rostered game times? like DC 3-6, ET 7-10 etc?

Hmm I believe Raker said there were 97 people connected to the dhcp server. But yes there were quite a few and the majority of them came in the first half hour of opening.

Looked to be a very varied lan, lots of different games going on and as always someone in the cs servers. I didn't pay much attention to the tournies so can't really comment on that myself.

Overall a very busy lan, many happy faces and look forward to next time :wink:

4 times :shock: . I think the most me and phoenix had to replay a match was once or twice against spero and umm the other person :?

Ohh i would also like to give skinny (and the others i ended up using) a special thanks for letting me use his comp to. If ya ever need mine just ask. Ohh and i don't mean my laptop which you hate.

Edit : I liked the game where it was 3 people in generals vs me and a comp and i ended up killing the comp for them :lol:

Yeah restarted so many times cause, first time had trouble with my cd-key, second i think i was using some1 elses comp... and the power magically disconnected, i then changed the cd key on my comp but didn't realise that i actully had to complitly uninstall the whole game and re-install instead it just blew me up 10secs into the game, i gave up and burgers took them on and did a very good job and was winning till his computer magically lost power :D, and due to the good sportmanship Longtom and Urit declared us winner cause burgers had 2 particle cannons and had 2 bases and more money than he could count.

And yes 3vs u and the comp was quite fun.. although i got very confused cause the army would be attacking me and i would be dieing then u would come in kill off the comp and then u would start attacking me.

I think we need to do it again :D

Yea big thanks to all the Admins, network staff, organisers, sponsers etc. was a good lan nice network thx coco :) there wasnt enough time tho :( and i slept through most of sunday :( cant wait till nexttime :) when i have played moto GP and whoop monkey and milenko ass :D

I dont give a shit who it is....if i see someone SMOKING and leaving the butt's on the concrete be expected to hear my thourts & ive said it once ive said it a million times..... IF YOU SPILL ANYTHING ON THE FLOOR tell me so i can get it cleaned quick.....next time i see this we might have to raise the price of the venue so you people will have to pay more to get in cause im not going to clean it up the greek school will so they will ask for more money to your cost....dont be a stupid bunch of people let me know strait away....

Lol woop i was being attacked by you 3 and was trying to save hamburgers from a tank rush the comp did to him as well as kill of the comps base so it didn't beat you 3. The reason my choppers kept attacking you was i had to force fire onto the comp so when they killed what i had forced fired on they would start shooting at you.

Never realised the comp would be that good as i don't think i have played the comp before.

The power wasnt an issue from where i was sitting, i might have been a lucky one though.
Just one thing along the lines of cleanliness (from a non-admin's pov):

Whoever keeps leaving their rubbish on the outside tables, stop it. Pick your shit up and place it in the bins. Its a 6 metre walk, dont be lazy.
There are people who like to sit out there and have a smoke or just to chat. We dont like having to sit in your mess.

Thanks to bill and his mum for that prize i won looked at how many cables there were and decided ill put it in ONE day.

Well the DC action was awesome, Thanks for ROT for army fight and thinking they could give the rest of us a slapping (a few hero's can't beat an army guys).

Thanks to Patman, Ginz and Co for a hard fought DOD, can't believe we could never quite take that Last Flag.

Now the following is not a bitch at the DGA (who setup a great LAN), but must say that I picked the wrong table to sit at, We had the a switch failure a few hours in and then a power outage when it was dark (can't say what time thess things happened at other than that), but I did use these a good excuse to give my eyes a break.

The network and Power issues are pretty much our fault, MANY more people showed that didn't register, i'm pretty sure Crazy had over 105 connections at one time. This hopefully won't occur again.

FTP seemed to be ok, gaming pings were pretty ok, one table had some issues but Raker was able to sort them out.

I personall score this lan about a 6.5/10 compared to the last few which have run pretty flawlessly.
We shall definately do our best for next time. :)

And NP FLamm, it wasn't only your bottles bud, and after having 12 hours sleep for 3 days I was a pretty cranky CoCo by 3pm on Sun :)

Also BIG UPS to Harb, Lani , Monkey and a few others that stayed behind to clean up the enormous mess.

Had a ball playing DC with more then 20+ people, Enterprise server was running fine, after I had to limit the FTP connections, :)

Played Q3 thanks to SperO for owning you, and MotoGP monkey is a freak on two wheels, but i really enjoyed it. the one thing i really liked was getting a sdcore of 700,000 points and the nearest person was monkey on 300,00 :) - Got Score people ? :)

Spongebob and I tried to play ET, but we couldnt work out what to do... :(

Damn fine LAN people - huge big thank you to all organisers, as well as tn1 and his awesome server, and also to all the people who played DC :D

Think the most I saw on the server was during the proper ROT vs. Everyone at Basrahs Edge- think it was like close to 25 - 30 people. Too bad ROT got raped by ICDU and everyone else - the army of peasants will always kick the shit out of a few veterans. Brilliant game - ROT holding ther ground VERY well (i HATE snipers).

I even managed to get in the top three a few times - wish I took some screenshots :( Imagine if I was running the game at beyond 80% view distance and at more than 20 fps!

Anyway top top LAN. Can't wait till the next one.

Oh and Harb - looking forward to seeing those photos.

I was in the middle of a tournament of C&C when they called my number so I go up to get this mousepad and the game didnt get paused because no one could work out how to pause it.

So Im trying to run away and everyone is like "Spero get a photo" and I was like "Im in the middle of a tournament ffs"

Man wtf is your problem .. I have every intention to come to a FLC lan, but every time EVERY TIME I check when it is on, I see what 10 people registered hence, mental note .. Its not worth it .. SO if your grife is with me leave it with me .. Leave DGA out of it ..

Now that, that is settled . . . . Lan was fun enjoyed myself after I got my comp started and not in pieces :)

i had only just finally got around to getting the switch back about 2 weeks ago, tho was partly due to my fault not chasing it up, when it was located. THought I might get ontop of it this time.

the easiest way to find u'r crd is to lable it
i draw 3 rings around all my network cables so i konw its mine and dont pull other peoples out
i suggest people do the same but not 3 rings or u'rs will be taken out and put into knight bag
