Audio won't work (fixed) New problem

All fixed scroll down for new problem.

The time when ive had trouble with the onboard sound is when the jumper on the mobo wasnt on. Checked that all jumpers are in the proper place and that onboard sound is enabled in the bios?

I skipped Cat 3.6, for reasons that 3.5 were working fine and I was gonna reformat soon and 3.7 would be out at the time. I did hear about quite a few problems with 3.6 though.

Give 3.7 a try if you can. Also, reinstalling drivers can cause more problems, with the cat's you need to uninstall the drivers, then install the drivers on again. Which your probably doing anyway but mentioning it just incase.

When I install windows I always put the video drivers on last once everything else is setup. So yeh just uninstall the drivers and go from there. If you've been reinstalling drivers over top of each other then theres programs that clean of any trace left by the drivers.

All fixed was bloody video drivers. They must of stuffed up on first install as the were causing hte video card to fail. Reinstalled them noe audio and lan and everything works :)

WOOHOO finally off my laptop.

DC ran on max everything with max bots and 25% cpu time given to them at like 40fps though.

Now time to save for a high end video card.

Edit : One problem left. When playing DC comp crashes to desktop after about 10 min :(. The video card only has a heatsink and the temp on the top gets to 60 degrees any programs that can show my the actual video card temp? Also would this be the video overheating?

Nah that's probably not it. Im guessing if the vid card was overheating then the whole computer would freeze and you'd notice grfx corruption in the game.

It's BF1942 engine we're talking about here, probably something to do with the game itself.

Well parts of map were invisible in some areas and it crahses while i am playing the game. Also the top of heat sink was 60 degrees

I reckon your DC issues have very little to do with heat man. Mine used to do that a lot - fixed it by cutting out all non-essential crap out of the background (ie - msn, styleXP, antivirus, etc.).

Yours spontaneously combusts, SoulBlade's computer gets reset whenever he quits DC. Whenever I hit esc to go back to the menu, DC just terminates.

But yeah - try running BF1942 and see if it does the same thing - DC is still in it's Alpha you know. Also try playing around with your video settings (ie FSAA, etc.) to try to solve those graphics issues.

Ok BF runs fine and some DC maps runs fine. Must of updated screwy.

Man, i have a Duron950 with a Gf4.
i run at 640x480, 16 bit, bilinear, no AA, no AF, 50% view distance, low EVERYTHING and i chug.
