How slow and incredibly mundane is Halo PC's multiplayer component? It is by far the slowest and most boring game I've ever played. What a disapointment.

halo pc is out? are u comparing the multiplayer to halo on xbox or games like CS?
Post 3
Compare it to any multiplayer FPS you've ever played before. This is worse.
My grandpa jogs quicker. He's got more entertaining weapons, too. :P

Wow what a terribly dissapointing and pointless thread.
If you were gonna bash Halo PC then you could have at least done it with more brains. The games speed could be faster but im sure a mod will easily fix this.
Here let me give you some help since people are probably sick of your opinionated dribble. The first thing you had to say when wolf ET came out was something like 'to bad its as bad as the original'...now you love the game, thats when I decided that your opinion doesn't mean anything. Sorry but i'll never forgive you for knocking ET dammit :P , you've since seen the light though which is good
Back to Halo, how about the fact that all animations are still locked at 30fps no matter how fast your l33t system is running it at. Or the fact that the pixel shaders have been re written in DX9 making performance on slower cards like the GF4 not as good as it could have been. The xbox has a GF3/4 hybrid thing after all so what was the point of redoing stuff in DX9 on PC.
Or the fact that the weapons needed to be balanced more now that its easier to aim with a mouse.
There's plenty more complaints for the single player. Like the lack of a freaking co op.
:P

I don't need to bash it with more brains, I don't need to talk about the downfalls of the engine as opposed to the good things. Pixel shaders, DX9 and frame rates are all irrelevant when it's simlpy uncomforably slow, making it unfun to play. Granted, the vehicles can be a bit of a laugh, unfortunately that's where it seems to end.
As for being opinionated, what, I'm not allowed to express my opinions now? Seems to me that's exactly what you're doing as well.
A game could have the most fantastic engine every conceptualised, it doesn't mean squat if the gameplay isn't there to back it up. In my opinion, Halo is slow, and unfun.

Oh, just one more thing - while we're talking about the engine, this game looked better graphics wise in 1999 than it does now, that's obvious. Feel free to go download some of the original footage from 1999/2001 E3/Gamestock.

me4 and my mates found that on xbox if the multi was all to slow, turn off shields, to this on sum of the smaller maps and its crazy.
Post 8
is it any good on Xbox ? My friends always talk bout it and I've never seen/played it ?
Post 9
Sure it's great on the XBox... if you're comparing it to other XBox games. ;P

You can express your opinion but what you express is usually based after 5mins of play from what I've gathered. OMG teh wolf ET is just as bad as the original...OMG lets have a wolf ET comp...
Halo is slow but it takes time to adjust, also need to get a decent size game of it going like 4vs4 on Blood gultch, CTF and it can be hella fun. It was on the xbox and ive given the PC beta a quick go and it felt the same just higher fps :). No reason why it cant be just as fun on the PC. You just need to get focus on the vehicles rather than running around on foot, plus no reason why someone cant release a simple small mod to boost game speed.
Graphics better in the original PC version...riiiight, sure it did look nice but it used none of the shaders or bump mapping nadda nottin. Also what the bungie team did was just transfer what was done of the PC engine and chuck it onto the xbox, slapped on some bump mapping and shader effects. It looks better but I do agree with you that the original looked very sweet for the time. Don't tell me your still hurting deep down when MS bought out bungie and made halo xbox exclusive? Time to move on mate.
Seeing though that you went to all the trouble to get a hold of Halo and play it, then make not 1 but 2 threads to bash it, I reckon there's abit of love there deep down.

Wrong. The PC version did use shaders and bump mapping, which were two of the techologies which had just reached the platform, it was one of the first games to show it off and people were blown away. They didn't just "chuck it onto the xbox". Microsoft cut the potential for the game in half because of the limitations of their console, and where they wanted to go with the project. However, I am moving on, slowly but surely. ;P
As for playing it for five minutes, I've played it for a few hours now in some nice big 6v6 games. Don't get me wrong, it was fun as a team game (ctf, team slayer etc). Free for all simply sucks, and generally speaking none of the game modes are any fun without vehicles.

Halo on Xbox is the best FPS on any platform ever. Period. The graphics, the physics, the controls, the story and most of all: the multiplayer. Only thing that stopped it from perfection was a lack of boss fights.

so... did you eat a lot of paint as a child?

Why what's better? Please don't say Counter Strike or Quake. I'll have to ingest a gallon of paint.
