Alright guys! Sydney Gamers League is still on. However, the numbers have been reduced from 550 to 420. It's on the 1st November, which is a Saturday. Registrations start Wednesday the 28th October at 10pm.
It costs $25 for the whole day but since I am assuming everyone one of us attending is gonna be a first-timer to SGL, it's a ONCE-OFF fee of $5 for an ID-card. That $25 covers power, lunch and tea (BBQ) and some other stuff. There is a canteen there, where everything is a very reasonable price. I am thinking cans of drink, chips, maybe some hot food (pies, hotdogs) and sugar lollies (I hope...).
The doors open 9am Saturday, and the power is turned off at 10pm. Seats may be reserved for friends, but after 10:30am anyone can take any seat. So, anyone wanna volunteer to reserve a few seats (you will know who's going by that time). I er, live 2 hours away from SGL (I live up in Swansea - near the Central Coast) so I will hopefully get there at 9-10.
SGL provides seating, and 2 power sockets for you. Items advised to bring:

Computer
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse (and mouse pad, if you need it)
Headphones
Power Cables
Cat5 Network Cable (5 metre).

Speakers are NOT allowed, although nothing is sikker then a fully sik subwoofer :D . When you present your ID card (you get one for $5 if you don't have one or lose it, it has ya photo, so look sexy for the day :)) you are issued with a wrist band which MUST be worn all day.
I would suggest looking at the Sydney Gamers League website, cos it's where I got all this information from.
Now, do we want to register under a clan of some sort? You need to register and check the registration list to make sure it's been processed through. I'm about to e-mail them to see if we can bring alcomahol, or whether it's allowed there.
Edit: Alcohol is not to be brought to the event, and it won't be sold there
Now, my parents are hella stingy, but even if they won't let me take my computer etc, they won't stop me getting a train there and being a spectator. So even if they don't let me take my system (which is mostly mine, but GRRR - parents...) I will come along anyway. Probably at about 11, and leave after dinner.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that all of that is out of the way, here's some information about me!
My name is Troy, and I'm 17. I got into gaming on a 56k modem, and a reasonable computer (Playing Age of Empires). I used the screename Forgetful_Duck, but later switched to Amphibious One. I found out about Counter-Strike 1 year ago, and since then started playing and hooked on. I later adopted the name Amph cos people are lazy and don't want to write "amphibious one" (though most people called me amph, I sometimes got phib, amp, amphi). I was running broadband by the time I got on Counter-Strike.
Here are my current system specs:
[list:1827f45c4a]
AMD Athlon 2500+ running at 1.8Ghz
Radeon 9600 PRO 128mbit
1 40 gig HDD
1 80 gig HDD
2 512 sticks of ram
17" Flatscreen LG monitor.
48x24x48 Cd drive, and a DVD player which is whatever...

The games I play now, and plan to play at SGL are:

Desert Combat
Enemy Territory

I will eventually overclock my AMD Athlon. Um... hmm... ok - I think that's about it. What a long post. I bet noone is even gonna read this.
