lmcl writes "New Scientist reports that an asteroid about the size of a small house passed just 88,000 kilometres from the Earth by on Saturday 27 September - the closest approach of a natural object ever recorded. Geostationary communication satellites circle the Earth 42,000km from the planet's centre. The asteroid, designated 2003 SQ222, came from inside the Earth's orbit and so was only spotted after it had whizzed by."

Scary shit eh?

Probably go destroy all the planets etc knowing him

Post 3

lol - that reminds me of a comic strip I saw at uni a while back. Bush decides that the moon could at any moment escape it's orbit and crash into earth, so he announces a campaign to set out and destroy the moon before it can do any harm. lol - the Americans are all "You know that you would die if you tried to live on the moon's surface! It's like a big death-trap!".

If only I could remember the name of the comic strip...

Wouldnt that destroy most of the hemisphere?

Post 5

From what I can remember, one person did say "well, there really is no telling what this will do to the world's oceans" (ie - tides). The rest of the Americans are all "Bloody tree-hugger"
