NSW CS TEAM

i know nothing has been finalised but i would like to know what people think about the nsw team

who should be in it ect ect and teh llama and teh ducky and teh turkey ould like to know

well we need a team of 7.

and we got:

amph
crazy duck
crazy turkey
crazy llama

lemonjuice

= 9. hmmm so we need to drop 2 ppl.

in my opinion i think we have to keep duck and turkey on the team, iveplayed with them for ages and they work realy well as a team and are plain awsome players, remy is teh capitain so he has to stay in. id really like to be in it alot and i know amph does aswell
samid is also an awsome player from recelection and i hant seen any other ones play but yeah

dropping is going to be hard

There's also Godfather, Age and Danz, but they're not on these forums so they can go to hell :twisted:

I work well as a team, providing im playing with people who are mature in some way, otherwise they're just immature noobs who flood the intercom and tk.

It's not so bad getting it to 7, but the games are only gonna be 5v5, unless maybe all teams can get like 8-9 players, and we could go with 6v 6. So there's still gonna be 2 who don't play - they may never play. Unless we swap and change people all the time... but that's just dumb.

Edit: Since I was reading through these forums, I decided to be cheap. Thanks goes to smiddy, for coming up with the idea :)

Probably go with James (@gent-$mith - if we are going to be a team, we need to know each other's names :D) as vice-captain, cos he's the second oldest. We have a young team :shock:

I might have to leave half way, depending on how long the comp goes for, in which case we should decide on a vice-captain now so that if that happens they can assume command.

The other four spots we'll either have to flip a coin for or hold trials for... :-S Man, I hate having to do that, everyone r0x0rs.

I'm trying to get hold of a server that we can do a bit of practicing on, so whoever does end up in the team should be free to do a bit of practice (even the two reserves).

I think that in order to be fair we are going to have to say that if you can't make it to the practice sessions you can't be on the team. We'll try and come up with times that will suit everyone (that is assuming we can get hold of a server)

Also, we might just have a couple of MSN sessions to talk team/map tactics.

what do you guys think, does that sound ok so far?

EDIT: Maybe those people who can't be on the team can join in the practice session anyway, that'll give em a bit of fun, even if they don't get to compete, and that way if need be they can take someones spot.

Sounds good dudes (for me :lol:). I should be coming back to Aus next week sometime...searching for jobs here in NZ isn't going well, they really enjoy exploiting students with useless qualifications.

If training starts before I get back, I guess I can go to a net cafe to see whether they have 1.6.

depending on how things go I'll probably have to drop, in which case L|aMa or someone else could take my spot..

I'm moving to Homebush Bay this weekend and I'm not sure how long it'll take before I have the internet :(

Last place still to be decided (or two places if we have to drop duckey).

What I've based my selection criteria on so far has basically been interest and involvement. But I like James's idea, we might hold tryouts, all those who want in vs Me, @gent and Samid, top 4 get in.... We'll see.

We'll try and have a chat time this weekend, when we will decide upon a prac time hopefully next week. (This'll be for everyone, those on the team and the hopefulls)

I've talked to the Sabaki admins, and we are good to go with booking the Sabaki war server for prac's, so we pretty much just have to decide when (as long as it doesn't clash with other bookings). We can also use the 3FL servers, but I'd prefer to use Sabaki.

in my opinion duck needs to be on the team cause of his 1337 skills so i have said that he can come over to mine and use my conection and if teh other team are worried bout screen cheating then i wil pt him in another room

I guess Remy's just discovered that he has some probs in terms of team selection now.

Where have you (figs) and frenzel been the whole time this has been discussed dude? It's been planned for quite a while now.

I know Figgs - he use to play on the servers. -=SB=- FiGgS - you guys have probably seen him play. Dunno about Frenzal.

Guys - the teams are very limited. We need to get the other teams going first. SA needs a bit of a boost, anyone know people from SA willing to be a captain

Remy - Have you heard/done anything more about a server to play on. I'm sure we can just find an empty server, and vote everyone off that comes in 8) that sounds like a plan me thinks.

How about, the Sabaki #1 server tomorrow night at 11pm? I will assume it'll be empty at that time. Is this good for anyone else?

Hehe yeah I know what ya mean... Half these people haven't been here long enough to know what GU really was. A lot turned up from the wc3 server, etc.

Many we haven't played against. And many don't know the "older" GU members.

Hopefully this isn't going to cause too much trouble in selecting a team. Although as soon as the GU server go up hopefully everyone will jump in and the new and old will get to know each other better.

Slighty off topic, yes, we are the newer generation. We were brought in from the server, and then decided to get involved in the forums as well. I haven't played against many people, from memory:

SpongeBob, TopGun, OD (yes, THE OD - not the other ones...), Milenko, Figgs, BlueMania, BlueBlood, Galant, Cougar, fIxEd, and possibly a few others.

It was a big reason why:

I wanted to join Northern Response, and Rats of Tobruk - It'd be a great chance to play with some of you guys.
I want to be in the NSW team. Not only to be with my NSW peers, but cos I'd get to play with the regulars at GU.

i just really wanna be in nsw team cause i rekon it would be fun and i rekon we got a decent change and i rekon i could lift my game and perform well

harh :P challengers to qld shall perish :P ahahhahah yer I think its good seeing the new kids join GU, we need or the people we can get, add variety :D

Aye, it's good to come here - starting to get to know the different honchoes, personalities etc. A good community of gamers, cept for those bloody queenslanders. My god, they suck more ass than...that guy who sucks heaps of ass.

Yeah Samid, getting more and more ppl who want in. We might have to do trials of some sort after all.

Amph, I've talk to Sabaki, and we are good to go with the war server pretty much whenever (as I mentioned in an earlier post) as long as it isn't allready booked. At the same time though, I'm not too keen on doing too much untill we hear from Unseen that the comp will in fact go ahead (atm he seems a bit dubious), or it at least moves to the next stage (team selection).

As for the older GU NSW members, good to hear from you guys, we'll have to play a bit together to see how we go about choosing the team.

ummm well i didnt even know that most of these guys played on servers
reason i aint been around alot is cause since GU sertvers went WC3

I found less interest in playing hence why GU 1 just died noone play there for a long time
but i do play alot with the SB boys over at our sister site Sabaki

Cochise, most of us played quite regularly (ie, almost every day!) on the GU servers (mainly WC3).

Now that GU servers are down, I've been playing on OzForces, Sabaki, Eftel, and 3FL servers.

Unseen gave everyone a deadline to have a captain. There were only 3/6 teams that had one. Deadline has passed - it's not going through...

no the deadline is 2morrow (10th) :P

I'm pretty much thinking that that's it. I'll suggest a State of Origin instead, NSW vs Vic. :-)
