Went to site and there is a vote going on, on which games would be played, so might as well pick out what you people want listed.

Im gonna see what I can do to get us in it, but cant guarentee anything at this point in time.

Post 3

if istar is running it again like 2002 then i'll be running it in darwin this year. I dont think ausgamers is going to run it again, mostly because of the lack of credit they received for it. (I was talking to one of the officials)

but yea istar have a good chance and if that is the case then we will be entering all the comps but you will have to find your own travel from sponsers and stuff. this year was the first year they paid for people to fly over.

Post 4

i would like to see NT field teams or players for each event held at the WCG quals
every other state is allowed to so why cant we ?

Post 5

we were allowed to with the last tourny - just the extra people had to pay for themselves.

Post 6

Ahh sounds good, I mean if the opportunity is there to start with it at least gives everyone something to work on :D

Sponsorship would be hard for such a thing, but a bit running around and i'm sure it's possible for teams, etc :)

Though I must say, the "qualifiers" for the NT are going to be somewhat "dull". With cs probably still the biggest comp and the cs community up here somewhat lacking, the amount of teams is going to be bare, and as with any other game atm, maybe other than the 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 (wc3, etc) type thers not going to be much :?

Post 7

There seems to be a decent amount of Zero Hour players at past DGA's as with WC3 and even starcraft and NFS underground seems to be pretty popular from forum members. Hopefully that will get voted into WCG.

Maybe we could raise the price at DGA's by $5 or so to pay for winners of one comp or something to fly down.

Lets hope we have it up here again, and please vote Zero Hour as the number 1 RTS on that site :).

.
not a bad idea
i just think casue the rest of NT isnt into a game there might be someone into it so they shoudl be able to go
we should be like the other states and feild teams or people in every compertition

Post 9

Mabye not every comp, as the other states have a lot more people then us. Would be stupid to send someone up if there were like only 2 teams here that played it out for that particular game.

But i am so hoping that if we do enter that the DGA organisers pick Zero Hour :)

IMO I don't think this is a good idea. I say we raise the price of DGA by $5 so DGA can buy new hardware and stuff, that way we all benefit, not just the few who are keen on a particular game.

Ok guys something to remember and has been stated

1) Darwin does not have a huge gaming population.

2) Many gamers dont come to DGA at all

3) Self organised Self funded.

4) We wont be able to send somebody for Every game for every event. It is impossible.

5) In saying that, we could still run the comp but the winner/winners would have to pay for themselves to go down.

As for raising the price of entry.. ATM (comparing to southern lans) there entry fee's range from $20 - $35 from what I can see. Many of you have complained that $20 is too steep already.

Cheap bastards....

Post 13

no we only want to raise the price for the NT trials DGA
so it can help the winners get down to compete in the WCG qualls

Post 14

Or charge $5 or "0 entry fee for those wishing to compete in any of the quals......Then non gamers don't have to pay extra, and gamers........well "0 is definitely worth the competition

Post 15

yes another good idea
5$ entry fee for the comps

Post 16

Well I think it would be cool to go into the WCG again next year but if we are going be in it I reckon we should at least try to stand a chance against the interstate competition. Cos seriously, the losses that we as a state/territory suffered was abysmal... we didn't stand a chance in hell... sure [S] got rounded with some of hte top clans in aussie, but if those clans who went to korea got owned so badly, its saying something... I reckon if darwin took gaming to the next level for those who wanted to go to the next level then we put up a good fight

Post 17

yes well I could start a whole big conversation on this shit but I couldnt be f***ed

welcome to darwin ..

Post 19

are we getting that chance again like at evo 3.5 the winners get to go to wcg or not this time?

Post 20

guys... if we just sent someone in every competition and that person doesn't have enough skill... they will get their ASS KICKED>.....

both me in wc3 and the cs players got smashed... we went there to only have fun .... the people that i vsed play approximately 3-8 hours a day.... if you really wanted to have any chance in wcg... u better start training now.... hopefully we can have more competition in the games selected by wcg....

Post 21

People are missing the point here.. ahh well

Post 22
