Hi guys,
Im gettin my new computer this weekend and i was wondering if you could give me a list of all the little programs that you guys find useful. You know, like ones that show system resources or ones that improve the look of windows or any other program that you think deserves a mention.

use trillian, its like icq msn aim and irc all in one

helps to control downloads and u can pause them and limit the speed

ignore the popup ad filter, what you want to install is mozilla firebird
ignore clone cd, alcohol 120% is the way to go there.
i'd also say ignore winamp 5 and go with itunes, but most people seem to be averse to anything apple.
don't forget acdsee for image viewing.

Mozilla Firebird is nice. But just too damn buggy at the moment.
I've just formatted so I'll be installing the usual suspects and I'll list them here.
First ones though I use for work:

buggy? what exactly have you found that is a bug? i haven't had an issue i would call a serious bug with mozilla or its derivatives in about 2 years
Same here. I've yet to cross a single bug in Firebird.
i got sick of IE crashing or freezing up so darkwolf said use mozilla
with firebird in about 6 months its frozen about 4 times

Well I use 3 browsers evenly when doing work (web development) and sometimes if I'm lazy I'll just use whatever browsers open. All I can say Firebird isn't the most stable or developer friendly at the moment. It has got better, but nothing too flash to impress me yet. Since I reinstalled Windows last night, I have managed to crash firebird twice, freeze it about once and some of my w3c compliant pages that work in netscape, and ie come out funny (before you ask you can't see NDA).
Next time I manage to crash it I will try and take a screenie. However yes it is a nice browser to use nonetheless just not fully nice right now.
Mozilla is quite frankly THE best browser for development work.

This I can agree but I still use IE most of the time as it's what most 'ordinary' people still use. Personally I use Mozilla Firebird (on Linux), Mozilla/IE6 for Win2k.
