well i just got home(monday morning) and i must say.... GOOD LAN...
i loved it lots of dc and cs going almost all the time.. at one stage cs and dc games were full. there was also some cod at the start of the lan.wil some other werid games that i did not catch the names of..
alright network.. better than evo 3 but still very laggy at some stages.. power was good .. had a few problems at the start but there were all fixed and they dident re-occur,
the comps dident go so well.. the fps comp dided early saturday afternoon cause of kurt was too busy trying to help with power issues and stuff. but the generals comp went really well (good work spero) i think tachi lost.. :(
leachies were good.. i got some done. the slow network holidng me back from more..
howies movie was great.. (i dident see it) but i know it would of been great!!
the food was good.. ordered over 110 pizzas form dominos pizza over the 2 nights..
and of course eaters bbq was great.. nice meat.. (mine 1st one was burnt :( ) but it was good..

so summing up it was a good lan...

i wanna thank the usual people the admins, helpers etc.. ill see you all at the next evo or dga :)

EDIT: i noticed a lot of spare seats around.. both on saturday and sund nights.. i know people that really wanted to come too...

Putting this post here instead of a new Thread.

I do appologise to all those that had entered into the FPS comp that didnt get to play. I was fighting the Power all day sunday and just as I wanted to start, power would drop be it on my row or soembody else's. With the comp have 1 match played 5hours after the start time needed, I decided to call it off instead of having played half the matches.

Not sure if I will run this time of layout for a comp in the future but its a possibility.

Again I am sorry to those who were there for the FPS comp, there was nothing we could do.

I did look at running games on sunday, but that was put off due to the RTS comp which went off really well.

DGA 26 will feature 2 FPS games. :) already decided on, just working out the minor details now so stay tuned for that one.

I'd like to thank all the admins and everyone who bought pizza, of course, and i would also like to extend a personal thank you from the domino's franchisee owner.

we ordered 110 pizzas, 10 garlic breads, 20 bottles of coke, and 3 serves of chicken strips..

about $850 worth i think.

Just so you guys know, i made no profit from those pizzas. they were the prices dominos were charging.

If you have any suggestions about future pizza orders please pm me..

I'm currently discussion options for greek school DGA events with the franchisee as he is opening a store in nightcliff in about a week..

Yes it was a great lan grats to the admins for pulling it off i had a blast and for the first time i got bored of cs :P

also umm i noticed someone was sick in the jackaroos toilet in the sink and didn't even bother to clean it up and poor monkey had to, i dont see why he should of had to if you throw up ffs clean it up dont just leave it there for someone els cuase its you'r own mess.

GG to sb on cod had a blast :P was so close i think it would have been a draw but i tked twice :P

it was good to meet some off the gamers from down south met cow got to see how he plays in games and a few of the letum guys sorry we didn't give u guys a close game but harb was a biatch and made milenko leave :D

Lan was very good, lots of DC savage and Zero Hour. It also wasn't to cold either which was nice. What was the most people in playing at one time?

Nice work on the RTS comp SperO and good work on you and Bomb3r3 winning it. What was the first prize for it?

Only problem is that i found out after the lan that my video card came with a DV-I to crt converter which when used fixed up the very poor colour quality my old monitor had was displaying. Ooooo no more creamy white just normal white :P

Thanks to the admins for all the work before the lan and thanks to all the guys who warred against us last night. We had people lined up at one stage to war Letum. Thanks to Unseen and the rest of the EVO boys for teaching us cable boys you are still a big threat :P Love CZ but then got sick of the gun noises and decided normal CS was the way to go ;) but still is good for a change. Played a little bit of DC then had it crash and couldn't be bothered loading it again. Thanks to Raker and his servers and all the work you put in dude! Well done!! thanks als to everyone else who put in the hard yards with all the work done ( sponge, ebola, cockie, clacker) Well done guys!!

Thanks also to Sponge Ebola and SpongeJr the hax for putting me up and giving me the dogs bed to sleep in. The dog is reallly friendly :D

That was because they were ~$2 cheaper then too :P Also as it was pretty much the only thing you could get without having to get it yourself :P

If I could make one comment, Some people still need to learn what a BIN is! Finding half eaten food and stuff on the floor and tables isn't exactly very nice, especially when im cleaning it up :P So before you leave next time just pickup the rubbish around your area and put it in the bin. Not too much to ask :)

Would like to thank admins for setup and inviting me on Friday night :) Aside power issues (which we generally always have so it dont matter) lan ran great, network up most of the time, a fair few game servers and a nice variety of games this lan was good to see. Unfortunate on comps, but not much you can do with constant power issues, but it was good to see people asking for servers to be setup for wars and pug type wars - welldone :)

And in responce to Rec's thread, sif make a "can't kill Rec" group!!! damn n00bies these days :P nah good to see ya had some fun in cs mate, still got that bs touch - while me, well yeah crap all week apart from odd game or two :P

what can i say besides it was brilliant

all went well, besides network and power issues ehre and there, but that wasnt any admins fault.

eater's BBQ 3 times a day was bloody brilliant, good food, cheap, and it didnt kill me, so thanks to ya eater

it was nice meeting everyone, putting faces to names, all the old admins and players ive known for years, and meeting all the newcomers to GU as well.

the gaming was awesome, far cry and CZ were the best, always had fun on them.

gg to the clans i warred, barely beating IDCU in COD, owning (:P) OmR with [EVO], getting owned by bastard skinny in [MOOMOO] :)

i loved every aspect of it, will be there again for EVO5

EVO4 was the roxor.
I leeched about 70Gb of stuff, played hardcore wars and got to meet two of my favourite interstate GU members, Mr Cow and Mr Ballen.

You guys rock, so glad to have met you both finally! :)

As mentioned, were a few issues (Ie, big fat power cables melting above peoples heads), but couldnt be helped. The cancellation of the FPS comp was a huge bummer, but shit happens. We warred all weekend long anyway.

Personal thanks to the admins, who like everyother lan, did a fantastic job at keeping me....err.....the masses happy :D
Also like to thank Andrew and Andy for coming to little ol' Darwin for EVO4. You two guys made it a most memorable one for me :)

Awesome Lan, First ever EVO and I am definitely impressed. The only downside in my opinion was that there wasn't another CS 1.5 server running.
Other than that, everything was fine and dandy.

But what I find quite funny about DGA events is that (from what I have seen) you generally have some sort of computer problem sometime in the duration of the lan when your computer runs fine up until the event :P

I can't wait for the next big event... Hopefully we have another half year evo like last last year we had Evo 3.5. Thanks to all you admins and to all the people who I played with I had a blast.

Great Lan, Had a ball...

Networking was fine I guess 200 ping at one stage for about 10 - 20 mins then it was great the rest of the time.

Great to finally meet Andy and Andrew, yeah... i guess you guys can be cool too... :P

Wars were EXCELLENT, I loved playing WITH ( letum ) you guys rock.... although.... you couldnt keep up with me :P (Ebola didnt like me poking my head out everywhere and running off a bit :P) OmR so much fun.

yup.

The lan was set up beautifully, the network was impressive. Best Evo network ever IMO. Granted I didnt leech much because I couldnt get FTP working on my computer and all the good stuff was in FTP. Ill tweak it later.

The bins around were a fantastic idea so thansk to Burk for that.

Thanks to the electricians (whoever it was) my bloody computer no matter where it is or where I am is always the one that loses power. Yes dont use the same power board as SperO.

Generals Comp kicked ass although took forever. Something like 8 hours over all. Im to leniant even though I told everyone who didnt have the correct versions they would forfeit I just let them play anyway.

Tachi and Pheonix
Insomnia and Raiya
Then El Presidente/Nevermore Equal 4th with i think regame and whatever his partners name was Neolminch or something strange.

As for the idiots who kept parking past the gate get a clue and listen to the admins for once.

All in all I would have to say was one of the better lans. Was good to see all the GWAR guys (and im sorry I missed warcraft 3 game stonefish - next time eh?) Plus Cow and EYEBALL, Thumper, Bomb3r. And whoever else
i cant think of.

Plus thanks Hamburgers for helping me with my tournament. And Dude, Ill miss you and I think most of DGA will miss you when you leave :(

Thanks to the admin who made it possible; cheers raker, coco, tn1 et al. tn1's movie was a blast. I reckon it would go well with a few seconds of "Smack my Bitch Up", however. :)

Big thanks to sper0 for the smooth running of the RTS comp. Sorry for holding up the third round with our epic 2.5hr superheavyweight slugfest with burgers. That was one damn big game - by the end I had five rows of lasers and firebases and a base chock-a-block with powerplants and drop pads. It was massive.

I got some good leeching in and overall I was very impressed by the network. It was a huge improvement on EVO3 in that respect. I lost power once or twice, and by the end it was becoming kind of voodoo-like, but I had enough to round out my gaming and leeching.

The food was excellent value and very tasty. Man was I hanging out for breakfast on monday! Thanks eater.

Oh, and thanks to OD of course, for giving me a break from generals. Mark's alright mate, but his team sucks.

LAN fkn rocked. Infact, the whole time I was up there owned. Something I'll probably not forget for a LONG time.

It was great going to a LAN again after my long drought of LANNAGE.

And it really was the people that made the experience, everything else is just details.
