I got this new toy from p-air
Its a little USB Memory stick.
I got it for uni cause i hate floopy disks and CD-RW's are too slow and ou need software for most pcs to write to them. With this stick its Plug & Play
Its wicked i could only get the 64mb version but there are versions that have a gig of space on them i think.
Anyways it looks like this.

Pros:
- Small and can be attached to ya keys
- The lid is secured to the device so you cant loose it
- Little activity light
- Very fast transfers (takes about 5-10 seconds to fill it up)
- Options of putting passwords on files/folders or whole stick
- 100% Plug & Play
- Comes with a meter long USB extension cord
- Can be used to as a boot device

Cons:
- Little activity light isnt that bright
- Dislike the password options a bit but thats just me

I got one ages ago for uni also. One of the most handy things I bought. However I see they've wisened up now after a couple years to include them with attachments so you don't lose the damn lid :D

Post 9

I got one of those but the library staff were giving me the evil eyes when i used it on the schools laptops. I took my comp up and said "its not working" and she said it was my mem stick the broke it and took it away and i still dont have it back.

i fucking hate library teachers, they are suspicious evil little women, even in year 12 we had to ask permission to use the computers for doin work in the library when there's 50 year 8, 9, and 10s playing flash games and checking emails on em, we should just have the right to boot em in the ass, and tell em to fuck off. and they tryed to force us to scan every disk whether it was from school or not.

even with that nothing prevented the school network being totally crashed about 3 times due to a couple of my mates (he made a program that utilised the netsend utility in XP/2k and distributed thoughout the entire school, eventually it just created so much traffic on the network that it crashed)

o, and love the memory stick, im thinking about getting a mp3 player which can also be used to store files, be a handy little thing

Just a stab in the dark, but that could be the exact reason why they are suspicious of students.

but yeah i hate old library teachers, i remember when the printer started printing they rushed up and checked to make sure what u were printing was work.. anyways we were in the other computer labs log in as the teacher(cause they never tryed to hide it when they were typing it in) and drew a evil library teacher say library teachers suck and printed it off to the library printer.. we dident know what happened but one of our mates from another class rekons that all the kids on the library computers were kicked off sent to the office and banned from using computers for a week... god it was funny..
the things we did in school :)

APACER 128meg USB 2.0 SPEED Removable drive PnP $ 75

Or u can do like I did get a notebook drive and stick it in a caddy. Maybe not as small but stores 20gb :) much more practical and better $ value. Though since its a dodgy Fujitsu it has issues. Shouldve gone with Hitachi ... grumble grumble
