Post 23

The last EVO was my first DGA event in about 2 years but I go back as far as DGA 1 and before that the Comics NT Doom comps. That's when EoS and I first met.

We were facing off on a couple of Pentium 90's or something when after a gruelling shotgun duel on Doom 2 map 2 I looked up across the table to see who it was that could out-strafe me. Our eyes met. The rest, as they say, is history! <3 :D

wtf is going on... did 50 odd people that used to attend DGA events move away or something?

Post 29

Hey there,

DGA 26 was my first lan, had a blast...
Except for 12 year old little sh*ts hacking...you know who you are.
The reason why not many ppl have joined is for the fact that when you go to register you have to put in your date of birth. Before the page is refreshed to the next page, the three boxes that you have to add your d.o.b. are cleared and then it says you can not register until you enter your d.o.b.
I don't know if it's just me that this is happening to or if it is happening to alot of other ppl as well.
May I suggest you remove this age thing off register.
And what's the point of having it there anyway...if you don't want kids to view the large amount of adult "stuff" on the ftp servers then you can just block their ip from the server.
Cya

Post 30

need to know who the kids are first....

Post 31

when they pay at door, you should be able to tell how old they are, and if they look too young you should get a signature off their mummies or dadies.
anyways, I had fun at the last lan. only seen 4 t/horse try to get on my computer from the lan.
See ya there if I can register. (still having prob's with that d.o.b thingy)

DGA is in the process of writing up an application for a youth government grant to further improve your DGA gaming experience, however we first need to know the range of ages that attend DGA. All information provided in this form will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical analysis for this application for a government grant only.

Kind Regards
The DGA Staff

As can be seen, they are doing this not to stop people but to get a kind of idea of the age range that attends..

I understand this.
I am just wondering if anyone else is having problems with signing up for DGA 27, as I have tried a number of times and still yet to be succesfulf in signing up due to the fact it wont accept any d.o.b. I put in.
Also, if they want to find out the ages of ppl at the DGA, they may not be getting a correct result, as not all ppl tell the truth about their d.o.b.

Post 34

the only way to police a cirtain age limit would surely ask people for ID, or maybe even make DGA Membership Cards and so only 18+ or something can join the membership....

but im sure that the Commitee is disscussing this :)

dude what is stoping a 10 year old putting up a fake DOB. :P we have all done it at one stage and putting a dob on the form would be an excerise not worth the outcome.

Post 35

i dont think we are trying to keep the 10 yr olds out we are just trying to get more funds from the youth whatever and they need to know how many youths are attending
i think :?
i dont know why we would want to stop 10yr olds from comming to dga
if they have access to a computer that they can bring along good on them and so long as there sensiable like all the rest of people go for it
everyone who is 11 or over was 10 once so we all know what its like :P

Post 36

I've tested the registration page with several different browsers but have not received any errors you say you've been encountering.

Send an email to neo@darwingamers.com providing me with your,
Username:
First Name:
Surname:
Email Address:
DOB:

and I’ll make sure your registration is processed before DGA 27.

I apologise for any inconvenience.

Post 37

It's purely an execise in gauging the number of 'youths' attending - nothing more. Purely a statistical issue.

Post 38

Just out of curiousity, why is it necessary that our surnames be apart of the registration for dga, who will be seeing this information and why?

Post 39

Don't you know, this is the modern world, people in the modern world want to know everything about "you"...my guess is they'll sell the DGA27 per's database to the russians...okay, now i'm talking shite and need some sleep....
then again it could be for the government or IRRA (or whatever they call themselves)...think about it, all that money the IRRA could make in law suits from just the mp3's on my computer...something like 16 thousand each mp3, i'm up for some amount like $$ (more then what the government makes in tax each year)

Jada.

Post 40

right...

I am thinking its because if something goes wrong in any form they will hunt you down and hold you liable for what ever you did :P

Is any one going to answer my question? To be honest i dont' feel confortable putting in my last name if i don't know whos going to see the information and for what reason and is it going to be confidential? I have no problem with putting in my DOB now that i know what the reason is for.

Post 41

ok I screwed up my registration :(
I deleted my confirmation email accidentally, then unregistered myself in order to register again and hopefully get a new confirmation email, now when I try to register it says error - email exists...

to any admin, please remove dark_incentive@hotmail.com from the registration database, or change my status on the list from crossed out to registered and confirmed, thanks :)
